Amplim Hospital Medical Grade Non Contact Clinical Infrared Forehead Thermometer with Free Storage Case for Baby and Adults, FSA HSA Approved, 2001J1, Blue White

I bought this thermometer because of the pandemic. I had gotten tired of using the standard oral thermometer, so I went with this brand after doing some research. This thermometer is very easy to use and allows us to check our temperatures regularly and often. I gave it a 5 star rating, but I do have one minor quibble. The thermometer comes with a nice carrying case into which the thermometer fits. However, a couple times when I pushed the thermometer down into the carrying case, it triggered the "on" button (the thermometer fits into a conforming recessed area in the case----it's actually a nice case, I'm just being objective here). So, I don't push the thermometer all the way down into the carrying case. I'm happy with the thermometer. Just saying for the sake of objectivity.

I would have given this thermometer 5 stars if it wasn’t because I usually have a hard time changing it from C to F..... but it seems to change easily from F to C. I do like the green, yellow and red screen that lets me know when the temperature it’s ok or when I should keep an eye on it.. I also like the hard case to keep it safe. I haven’t learned everything about it but you can also keep track of previous readings.

It's easy to use, accurate enough for self screening myself daily for work. If I were actually feeling ill I'd use an oral thermometer though. One complaint, it was delivered in a bubble envelope and the item's box got crushed, but the storage case and item were intact so I kept it. Amplim blames Amazon for delivery issues and it was UPS that delivered it. I'll leave it to Amplim, Amazon and UPS to sort that out.

I gave it 4 stars because I wish it stayed lit longer.... I have not compared it with others to see if it’s accurate , however it never read my temp higher than 98.0 . So I take that to be it’s normal.

Product arrival was as pictured... so far (1st day) it seems to be functioning well... when compared to the other thermometers we use it was running a out .2~.3 degrees cooler, so that's why I gave it 4stars instead of 5. Other than that I'm happy. (I'm a Medic currently assigned to a COVID clinic. The influx of patients has come with me supplying my own equipment, otherwise the wait time on rotating instruments would hinder patient care. )

Device works good EXCEPT the VOLUME for the BEEP is almost INAUDIBLE. I read the instructions 3times and there is NO WAY to increase the volume which makes it a PAIN to use as you must get CLOSE toto the thermometer while in the patients face to see if reading is complete, which is a VERY STUPID DESIGN CONSIDERING COVID!9. I will return, too bad its FLAWED and DANGEROUS!!!!

I really checked reviews before buying this and thought it would be ok. Boy, was I wrong! I did everything suggested in the manual to get this to work right, including letting it sit for 1/2 hour to get to room temp. I have other thermometers to refer to (very accurate) so I compared the readings with them. This unit was consistently off by 3 degrees for fever temp and 7 degrees for ambient room temp. Absolutely unreliable. I do understand that taking a fever reading on this type device can be off by about a degree - but not 3!

I have to review the directions every time I need to use, not as user friendly as I would like it to be. Easy to read, but not always accurate. Need to check twice.
