Good Life Low G. I. Rice Suitable for Diabetics - 10 Pound

If you are diabetic or on a low carb diet, this rice is good. Taste is good, not mich different than "regular" rice. Yes, it is more expensive, but good value - as it is for specialized diets.

Just picked up this item from the post office today. I cooked 1 cup of rice with 2 1/4 cups of water, salt and olive oil. I consulted ChatGPT on how to cook the rice and their suggestion was right on target, the rice cooked excellent. This is an excellent rice, easy to cook (30 mins) it is tasty and fluffy.

I purchased this rice for my wife, who is currently managing gestational diabetes, and unfortunately it did not work well for her. After eating one bowl, her blood glucose level rose to 164 mg/dL within an hour, which is unusually high compared to her typical readings. This spike does not happen when she eats parboiled rice, which she usually tolerates well. Based on our experience, this particular rice may not be a good option for individuals who need to closely manage their blood sugar levels. Unfortunately, it was not a suitable choice for us, and I would not recommend it for those with diabetic or gestational diabetic concerns. Even I do not want to give one star to this product.

Though I have not tasted the product to know if it is as described but from the eyes can see, the quantity or size of the bag does not worth the price. It is a rip-off buying only 10Ib rice @ $48.00.
