Description

Grammy nominated and Soultrain Centric Award winner Maysa holds a unique status in the world of R&B/Jazz. Her incomparably lush, sensuous vocals have garnered her legions of fans. As featured lead vocalist for the UK super group Incognito, core member of Stevie Wonder's Wonderlove and, of course, through her own albums and concerts, Maysa has been thrilling R&B and Jazz audiences for decades. Featuring special guests Will Downing and Gerald Albright, a VERY MAYSA CHRISTMAS presents the Christmas classics as you've never heard them before. Produced by Chris Big Dog Davis (Kim Burrell, Chante Moore, Will Downing), these renditions retain the classic holiday warmth, while taking the listener on a spirited, creative, soulful journey that only Maysa can deliver.

A must for your holiday music library!

Grammy-nominated vocalist Maysa Leak's holiday offering, "A Very Maysa Christmas," takes us on a musical journey that ranges from funky and upbeat to poignant and thoughtful. Her hip-hop take on "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" will please music lovers of all ages, and "The Little Drummer Boy" takes its title to heart and offers enough percussion and driving beats to get any Brazilian out of their seat. Will Downing shares vocal duties on a soulful rendition of Donny Hathaway's "This Christmas," while a healthy dose of jazz chords highlight her lovely reading of "Silver Bells." If you've ever enjoyed Maysa's work, "A Very Maysa Christmas" is bound to become an annual listening tradition.

A BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS CD!!

This is a beautiful CHRISTMAS CD. Everyone that rides in my car wants to know, "Who is that singing?".....It is just smooth and peaceful to listen to....I just love the song, PRAY FOR PEACE....It is so relevant to the state of the WORLD today. I brought 2 other copies to share with friends. They love it also. I brought the CD after seeing you perform in Atlanta. Thanks so much for a beautiful CHRISTMAS CD!

Joyful, Joyful

One of the best Christmas music collections I've heard. Maysa's voice caresses your ears and makes the heart leap for joy. Her rendering of Little Drummer Boy makes me cry as a I rejoice in the meaning of Christmas. Pray for Peace is the perfect song to end this CD.

What can I say. Holiday music and Maysa are a great combination!!! She can sing just about anything and make it sound awesome and she proud that when she sang Chirtmas time is here from the Peanuts and it was so good I didn't even realize that's what it was!
