You Tube vids have several suggestions for releasing the window crank clips on early GM vehicles. Nothing, however, beats the proper tool--and this is that tool. Works perfectly, instantly, every time. Don't try dodgy fixes, get the tool.

I have older vehicles with crank windows. this tool works great for removal.

This tool works well for its intended purpose. However, when I tried to remove the pins from the handles in my 56 bel air, I had a difficult time. I was eventually able to remove the door handles and window cranks. I needed to make the opening of this tool slightly larger to completely fit through the pin.

This tool works perfectly to remove the retaining clip on GM ( and probably other makes) crank window handles.You will fool around for 3 hours trying to get that retaining clip off with a screw driver.Your time is worth the 9 dollars this tool cost!

For the handles that cooperated, it popped them right off. Pretty easy; align the tool with the crank handle, push the tool on, retention clip pops off (and that's literal, good luck if you need that), handle comes off. However, I had one handle that did not want to come off. I'm sure it's the handle that's bad, because 2 tools couldn't manage it well. This one, however, as soon as I put pressure onto the end it almost immediately bent and now i can't put any real pressure on it at all. This is only an issue when the clip doesn't pop off quick and easy like it does 99% of the time.

This tool is so awesome worth the money even though I'm probably only going to use it once lol before I used to remove the handles with a screw driver and it was hard and took a ton of time with this I popped it on and got the handle off in 30 seconds!!! Turns a 30 minute job into a 1 minute job 100% recommend product is aluminum so it won't break

If you have owned a Jeep with manual crank windows you understand the need for this tool. Why are the handles always right where your knee rests when the window is fully open or closed?

Can still be a bit tough to get the clip off with this. But it eventually worked.

Worked like a charm to remove a window crank handle from my early 2000's car. Absolutely worth the few bucks to make removing a door card a breeze.
