Gifts of the Visitation: Nine Spiritual Encounters with Mary and Elizabeth Paperback – March 9, 2015

This book is filled with spiritual nuggets that you'll want to underline and star. It's really a mini retreat, which takes you deeply into the hearts of Mary and Elizabeth, and uses their spiritual gifts as a map for your own spiritual growth. I was amazed at how much depth the author was able to mine from one incident in Scripture, and mixing it with her personal story was definitely a plus. The author has a beautiful way of writing that drew me in, as a novel might. As a woman, I related to the spiritual friendship of Mary and Elizabeth, but I don't think this is just a book for women. The gifts of the Spirit which they shared are gifts that everyone needs. The book also made me realize more deeply how the Lord loves to use ordinary people, people the world overlooks or even looks down upon to do great things for His Kingdom, things that count for eternity.

I read it and gave one to my granddaughter. We talk about each chapter each week together regarding what we gained from the book. It is easy to read, and has some great insight.

Love the book and have already recommended to many friends. I visited Ein Karem Jan 2019 so was extra special for me.Only complaint is it takes toooooooo long to get the book. Not an Amazon Prime customer expectation.

This was a very warm and spiritual book about the Blessed Virgin. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a prayer-filled gem of a book. An honest, humble account of drawing closer to Jesus through meditating on the Visitation meeting of his mother Mary and her cousin Elizabeth, and a moving expression of how this resulted in an overpowering desire to share His Good News to others. More than that, it has practical help to all who read it with love of the Lord, on how they too can I share the mission set out for all Christians by Pope Francis in Evangelii Gaudium.
