Crown Jewellery (Art Books) Hardcover – November 16, 2011

A crown can be heavy and this book is heavy and not short of examples. Only wished the photos were better, but the text is fun and informative. And so many types of crowns, some gorgeous some primitive but all alluring.

This is an informative and great book! The sellers also sent it early and in perfect condition! I'm very happy with this book!

世界中の王冠の類が、9割方精細なカラー印刷と解説で分かりやすく分類してあります。　実際の国王の着用時の写真などもあり非常に参考になります。　インドのパシャやイラン・エチオピア皇帝、ネパールなどの王制が滅んでしまった所に関しても記述はほぼ完璧です。特筆すべき展としては、アフリカの部族王などの王冠などまで収録されていますので、この本の選に漏れた王冠の類はかなり少ないのではないかとおもいます。ただし唯一かつ重大な欠点として、日本及び朝鮮王朝の部分がすっぽり抜けていることでしょうか。　たしかに「男性用の君主の冠」が少ない国ではありますが、朝鮮王朝の冠や日本の皇后に伝わるティアラ類が収録されていれば完璧でした。　そういった所で☆4つの評価とさせて頂きます。　基本的にまず購入して損のない資料です。

ティアラに関する本は数あれど、王冠を扱った本は少ないんです。世界各国の色々な王冠を大きな写真でたくさん見せてくれます。全編カラー、字もいっぱい。英語読めればもっと楽しいはず。王様好きには買って損無し。

This is a beautifully illustrated & fascinating book - excellent on European & non-European regalia. I would throughly recommend it.

Nice book with lots of pictures,but to many african crowns,where the european could have been more lavishly covered.However still a comprehensive guide to regalia...
