Homax-41072022132 Knockdown Knife, 7-1/2", Texture Finishing

This was the perfect tool to assist my large knock down project by hand. I would use this a lot since my technique was either too fast after application or too hard while pulling down and having the foam blade provided a good finish or a good clean up if I had a nick from the edge or spots that didn't knock down where others did. Definitely a handy tool for my texture project!

Good price and does the job

It covers a good amount of area, does a smooth job spreading wall texture, and the best part of cleans up very very well with just liquid soap and water.Looks like it will work and last quite some time too.

I am not a huge fan of the big knockdown knives as it is very easy to apply too much pressure to one area and screw it up. Furthermore, I do a lot of patch work and handyman work so I don't need the big one. I love the rubber end so it is not a hard surface; you can apply as little or as heavy pressure needed to reach desired look. Always test your work on a sample piece first to make sure you are getting the look you want. Be sure to dampen the rubber scrapper, wipe it after ever 1 to 3 runs, and dampen it throughout use. Lastly, light as a feather goes a long ways. Good Luck. I love this product!

Used to create a knockdown ceiling. With light pressure the knockdown tool did the job. Getting the knockdown cans to work well was another story.

The knock down knife worked perfectly after trying a large steel blade which did not work. Unfortunately, my Amazon order was cancelled, but I was able to find a 6 inch version at a local retailer. The cancellations seem to be happening more frequently. That said the knife worked beautifully, but definitely practice or start your project in an inconspicuos place. I also found that you need to make sure the knockdown texture can is warm or it will not spray properly. I kept it in a hot garage or briefly in the sun before using. My basement storage at 70 degrees was too cold.

I don't know how I'd do a knock-down texture without these, and they are hard to find in stores. Love this. Treat it kindly, cleaning it before the materials dries on it. If the foam edge starts to get nicked, you'll have lines in your texture.

The tool worked great for my knockdown texture, but I'm giving it three stars because the foam had a glued seam in it right in the middle where two pieces of foam came together. I'm guessing not all come like this, but mine was one where it must have gotten the end of one foam piece and the beginning of the next during the manufacturing process. That's a quality issue. When I first dragged it over my knockdown texture, it left a scratch mark where the glued seam was since that part was harder than the rest of the soft foam edge. I had to be extra careful to drag it in such a way that the seam didn't mess up the texture.
