It actually is exactly what I was looking for and surprisingly exceeded my expectations on some of its claims...It definitely prevents anything that you wouldn't want touching your mattress from touching your mattress. I never post ratings until I put any product to good use. I honestly can say that this review comes from plenty of experience that involves a female Pomeranian puppy that my girlfriend and I just brought into our home.It also has a soft top layer which makes it unnoticeable both by touch and sound. This was a must and I had lowered my expectations to try to not be disappointed but I was gratefully impressed. I have even forgotten it was on there and only am reminded when cleaning the bed sheets.*Ease of installation note*One thing that people may not think about but was definitely a pleasant thing about this mattress cover was the ease at which it was installed. It honestly took me over an hour. I have a queen size mattress and it fits tightly in its bed-frame. I am a neat freak (and was going solo) and didn't want to pull out the mattress and let it touch the GROUND to help put the cover on. Needless to say it was terrible but looking back it went better than I should have expected. The cover (on the sides and bottom) is made out of a silky and very smooth material which I should be grateful made it a 1 hour task instead of a 5 hour task. It slid nicely between the box frame and my mattress and did not snag on the sides of the mattress either when pulling it tight or closed.Last thing...the zipper is sturdy and good quality too which makes me feel a little bit better about things being kept away from the mattress. It also has a zipper cover to hide the clasp which makes it just that more discrete (unnoticeable) that you have a pretty extreme quality cover over your mattress.

I bought this mattress encasement to protect a new, very expensive innerspring mattress about two months ago and put it on the first day the mattress arrived. I was sold on the reviews and promises of it not being hot.That was not true. It's still too hot. I took it off my mattress yesterday and finally had a fully restful night without any moments of uncomfortable heat.This encasement is very well made and does its job of protecting the mattress. But I am realizing the hard way that NO mattress protector, no matter how much the manufacturer promises to the contrary, can both shield against liquid spills and avoid trapping in body heat.That said, this particular mattress encasement was less hot than the cheaper plastic protectors I've used in the past. But it still eventually builds up too much heat during sleep, even during the winter when I don't turn on the heat overnight. And not getting good sleep ruins my day and makes it hard for me to function.So I've decided to risk spills, carpet worm bugs, etc. dirtying up or damaging my very costly mattress in exchange for a good night's sleep. That was the right decision. But if I do get bedbugs or whatnot and need a quality mattress encasement to deal with it, now I'll have this on hand.

Just leaving this review for whoever needs a reference. I have a standard 9" thick twin size mattress. I bought the 6-9" version and it fit well. It's not a snug fit, it's nice and relaxed while still fitting, which is probably better as a really tight one may rip over time with this material.The top layer is like a thin towel feel; the rest of it is like a smooth polyester type blend, like what those thin summer tracksuits are usually made of. The construction seems good, and the zipper seems strong. It's super white. I will update if anything goes wrong or changes in the future.

Got this to protect ourselves from dust mites. So glad I ordered this cover. Quality is amazing, our mattress is VERY thick and huge but it fits very comfortably. Feels and looks great, not cheap.

Got these during a bed bug scare to encase all the mattresses and box springs in the house. I’m not sure how waterproof they are... but they seem high quality. They do fit big though. I ordered the 12-15” for my 12” mattress and there is a lot of extra fabric. I should have ordered the 9-12” for a better fit.
