5-HTP, 180 Vegetarian Capsules, 100 Milligrams per Serving, by BodyVega

I use this instead of a serotonin agonist. It would have taken 3 months for a gastroenterology appointment and no guarantees the physician would be competent. I was developing severe, chronic constipation of 6 months duration. Stool softeners did not work even though they did indeed create soft stools. It was a problem with motility. 4 capsules, 3x/day works miracles. BMs are completely normal. In addition feeling physically bad (difficult to explain) disappeared as well. Physical well-being improved within 3 days and stools normalized after 6 days. I was never depressed nor had any anxiety issues so my mood stayed the same.One might question the high doses but I've had no "serotonin syndrome": no agitation, nausea, or nervousness. Since my physical well-being and digestive problems both resolved on this dose I can only assume that is what I need. Taking less results in both my prior GI and physical problems returning.

Quick ship from vendor. Good value. Product seems to be effective. I've noticed appetite control that makes impulse eating easy to avoid. I definitely sleep quickly and soundly. I don't take it during the day. Less easy to determine effectiveness regarding mood elevation. I suspect it has made a positive difference. Increased mellowness seems to have resulted in a trending lower blood pressure level.

I have chronic lyme and have trouble sleeping. It's important to get at least one 4 hour stretch of sleep during the night and this product helps with that. I take 1 mg melatonin to fall asleep and 2 5-HTP an hour before bed to help me stay asleep.

5-Htp by Body Vega has been a great aid in shifting my sleep cycles to a reasonable state and I much appreciate the made in the U.S.A. factor...

I was very happy with the price and it works great. 5 htp is a supplement I keep telling my friends about. Ill buy from bodyvega again for this and other supplements.

I have used 5htp for years, but this brand made my head tingle a few hours after talking one capsule and did not help me to relax. I normally use Now or other brands on Amazon, and take 3 capsules within 24 hours, which helps me to be calm and less anxious during stress. Not sure why it's more potent than the usual brands at 100mg.
