Looks OEM. Installed it in my car 2 days ago, has been up and down ? 6 -8 times, still works. This original in my '90 C4 ZR-1 lasted 33 years so we'll see how long this one lasts. So far. so good.

Socket to remove nut doesn't fit. But you can get by without it

The media could not be loaded.  The only thing I recommend is that you purchase or use dielectric grease to put on the plastic gear cord before you install this in your existing motor.The antenna mast itself is well-made, and is essentially identical to the OEM antenna mast. They have thoughtfully included an adapter so you can remove the uniquely-shaped nut that keeps the mast secured to the motor.In my case, my old mast's nylon/plastic gear cord had broken off inside the motor. The motor was still running but my old mast would not move more than six inches or so. I absolutely did not want to have to tear the interior apart to replace the motor. Thankfully, I was able to detach the motor from its bracket far enough to be able to open the bottom of the motor and remove the old, broken coil of nylon cord.I removed the old mast and fed the new one in, and after a couple cycles of the radio on/off, this one had been sucked down into the existing motor. Screwed the retaining nut back on top of the new mast, then attached the motor back to its mounting bracket. Took me about 3 hours (would have taken less if I hadn't decided to start taking the interior apart to remove the motor). On my ZR-1 I had plenty of room behind the rear driver wheel to work and get the motor apart to take the old cord out.

The antenna mast was a perfect fit for my 92 Corvette.

The mast matched my old one perfectly. I lifted and supported my !992 Corvette climbed under and unbolted the antenna assembly. I was able to turn the assembly upside down and disassemble it and remove the broken pieces of the original mast. I cleaned the internals and applied a light coating of grease to the gears. I turned on the radio and waited for the antenna motor to stop and then turned it off and quickly got under and fed the mast in slightly. I hand tightened the mast nut at the top of the antenna slightly and cycled the radio off/on a few times until the mast was fully retracted and the reinstalled the antenna. It's been working perfectly.

Very easy to install

I would give this product a five star review, except for the instructions and so called wrench that comes with it. The instructions make no sense. They sort of explain the installation process, but bounce around. I made my own wrench to remove the top nut at the body line. The antenna itself was a snap to install after turning the radio on and off 4 or 5 times. Overall a good product.

This item fit my 1989 Corvette convertible perfectly and was so easy to install. The included wrench made it so much easier to remove the nut than using needle nose pliers. Just make sure you tighten the nut before you extend the antenna or the motor will spit the plastic ribbon gear all the way out.
