This thing is montrous!
Honest review of Ka-Bar I bought this “knife” for my brother while I was overseas in Korea as a birthday present. So I was not around when it came to my house, my wife took care of that. So as far as on-time shipping goes, I don’t remember any issues. I remember she sent pictures of it before she mailed it, and the packaging it came in looked like quality. It wasn’t crushed, or cracked. When I finally got back home and visited my family, I asked to see it. My goodness this thing is Monstrous! The blade itself is about the length of a DVD case (a little longer, if I remember correctly)! The thickness of the blade adds weight to this chopper that screams durable. I don’t think any moderate prying is going to break this sucker. I don’t think I’ve ever held something like this. A blunt-force blade, solid throughout. I mean SOLID. The grip fills the hand in all the right places, the blade shows no sign of chipping, bending, severe scratching, or much dulling either. Mind you, this is at least two years! As far as I know, it saw some active use without any sharpening (< that I AM sure), and it still looks fantastic. He couldn’t be happier, and I couldn’t be more jealous. On top of that, the sheath it comes with is very nice too. Everything can be described as “solid”. You can also purchase different grips for it to replace the already great looking black ones it comes with. If you are looking for a durable, large, multipurpose blade that looks intimidating to any job and will last look no further. You’ve found it.

Perfect Tool for Working in the Woods
Y'ask me, despite it's outward resemblance to a classic, fixed-blade, sheath knife, I'd say it's not nearly adequate to call this unique thing a "knife". That all-too-commonplace noun simply doesn't do justice to the strength, durability, design, and versatility of... an extraordinary multi-tool? In the dense forest surrounding our house for the past two days I've subjected this tool to prolonged chopping, sawing, cutting, levering, chiseling, hooking, digging... and the heavy, black blade absorbed all that without dulling excessively, denting, or chipping! Moreover, the blade has a full-length tang bolted between a pair of plastic handles [Wusthof-Classic-style] whose ergonomics IMO are perfect, particularly for hard hacking and chopping... and the scabbard locks the blade in place when it's not needed in hand so it won't slip out and become lost in the tangle whenever one needs to scramble on all fours, climb over stuff, or low-crawl though critter tunnels underneath the bramble thickets. Possibly the only thing this tool lacks is a pointy tip suitable for stabbing and gouging. However, most days working by myself in the woods as I do, I've little need to stab or gouge anything, and clipped to my pants pocket I carry a nice, spring-loaded folder if an unpredictable need for stabbing and gouging should appear.

Yes! Brilliant!
Ka-Bar satisfied my lust for a large, hack-away chunk of metal that was easily carried about, and would take a heavy and unfair beating from both man and whatever object it was being used against. My first foray ended in complete disappointment, having purchased some crap knife that was absolute rubbish. So I was hesitant when ordering this knife, because while it seemed good on paper and on the computer, I wasn't so sure it would live up to my spoiled expectations. When it came though, I was enthralled. The knife is heavy, yes, but not clumsy. It's slightly unwieldy to hold, but the grip is well molded, and it fans out on both sides to prevent slippage. The handle I believe is glass-infused as well, giving it some sort of glassy attribute that is apparently very nice, and should be appreciated by everyone who hears about it. So appreciate it. The blade itself is basically a massive chunk of steel honed into a fat blade. This is no joke. The blade is a good quarter inch thick at the spine, and looks like you could hack your way through a stone wall, given enough time. It also has other uses, such as being a chode crowbar, rope cutter and bone saw, if you're into that sort of thing. The sheath is a little cheap, but clicks in well and keeps the blade away from prying eyes, and the loose finger. The Ka-Bar currently slumbers in the crook of my survival backpack, ready to spring out and smash anything deemed unworthy when things start to go south. I will undoubtedly find another knife in the future that will uproot this current king, but it has been two years already, and I've yet to find anything that comes close to the BK3's caliber.

Got this knife after watching a rescue crew "disassemble" a car with it. Chopping the damn doors off. and cutting out the windshield. This is advertising the way it should be done. Man sees - man buys. So I used this knife on a 3 month tour in the mediterranean sea for basically everything. As long as you can aim the knife at what you need to apply unnecessary amount of force to, you can break it. Doors and locks, crates, food cans, barbed wire - you name it. It's heavy but not unwieldy, rough but not clumsy and manly as all hell. Took it out on a 2 week vacation to Sweden, chopped wood and dug a fire pit with it. If you ever wanted a tool that is almost impossible to break and does almost everything to some extend I can recommend this chunk of steel. 10/10 would buy again - but it doesn't break so I don't have to.

When I first opened my Becker BK3, I thought to myself "Wait a second, I didn't order a crowbar!" Turns out I simply mistook the rugged, capable construction of the knife for that of a much larger and sturdier tool. These things happen, I'm told. Upon observing the impressive thickness of the blade, visions of cutting cars in half came unbidden. Perhaps some mystical property of the 1095 Cro-Van steel at work. The only superior blade I'm aware of comes from tales of early Briton antiquity, involving lakebound women stuffing swords into rocks. The knife came sharp out of the box, which I was thankful for. The nylon/kydex sheath is sturdy without being unnecessarily bulky, a vast improvement over my late Gerber LMF II. The belt loop is a bit large for my tastes, but that's just my preference. A few of the screws in the sheath were loose and had to be retightened, which took me all of 30 seconds with a Phillips head. This knife will make a very welcome addition to my every day carry. Its rugged construction and sturdy sheath will hopefully see it through many a punishing northern Canadian winter to come.

Exactly what I was hoping it would be. Solid tool. I dont think of it as I knife, but it definitely has a very sharp edge all along its length. I love how thick the metal is and that it is one long piece. It is excellently made with a comfortable handle and hex bolts which can be tightened if they ever loosen. Comes with a nice sheath as well. I'm very pleased to add this to my collection of tools and knives.

What a tool! This thing is meant for punishment. It serves nicely as a 'group' piece..meaning, one is often enough between 2-4 people in a group scenario. Product was shipped fast and arrived in perfect condition.
