Update: our hamster died 36 hours after I introduced this wheel into her cage. She was about 3 months old and healthy. I had washed her cage out with soap and water (as I've done with every other hamster we've had), then I put in fresh food and bedding as well as her new wheel. She appeared to like it and ran on it that evening. I remember smelling a dirty-cage smell in her cage that night but thought, that has to be in my head because I just cleaned it. The next day, everything was fine, but the day after we found her lifeless in her cage sleeping in her hamster home. My daughter was devastated. I can't prove that she died because of something with the Niteangel wheel and it was very quiet, which it was supposed to be, so that is why I am leaving my 5-star review. I did notice a thin film on the Niteangel wheel after she passed. I can only assume it was dried urine and smears of feces. Maybe she contracted an illness? Maybe the new wheel stressed her out because it was so large? At any rate, the wheel is very nice and runs smoothly but I just wanted to put out a reminder to keep an eye on your hamster when introducing new things.I had a hard time spending the money on this but wow, I'm so glad I did. When we opened the package, I couldn't stop spinning this wheel - it truly is silent. I am in shock. I am also surprised by how sturdy and well-made it is. I don't really want to stick it to the bottom of the cage with the sticky adhesive because I want to be able to clean the cage well and also move the wheel to a different spot if we so desire. It does not feel like it would ever tip over so I might make the wheel a bit taller, then pack the bedding in over it rather than put it on top of the bedding.

I thought this wheel was going to be a waste of money but I was fully wrong. I was first turned off by the price but omg! This wheel is actually SILENT. I own three mice as of now, going to be adding two more next month and so I needed a 10-inch wheel to support their spine and this is by far my favorite purchase. I have their cage near my bed and I see the wheel moving constantly but I don't hear a peep. Amazing wheel and AMAZING quality.

The media could not be loaded. I really love this wheel! I purchased the XL large for my syrian. It’s super silent at night (unless any items is on the wheel when hamster is running) and super easy to spot clean! However, I must mention if you plan to get a pedometer with this wheel, there’s a possibility of the logo not being able to be removed. I’ve written to niteangel’s support, but they just responded with “ Upon reviewing the description you provided, we have identified the issue. Initially, our quality control personnel may have tightened the logo cap a bit more securely to prevent it from falling off during the hamster's activity.” and restated the same instructions I mentioned I already followed in my initial email, providing no guidance. I sent a email back stating I already followed through, but there was no response back yet. There was no way for the logo to come off, no matter the force and I was really looking forward to seeing the amount my hamster could run. I will see if I am able to replace it for a not faulty wheel, just disappointed this happened after I’ve set everything up.Update: Update: Niteangel responded stating they’ll send me a new one as the other wheel was faulty. This logo came out much easier on the first try. They stated I don’t need to send the old one back, instead I can donate it. They also sent extra supplies for the trouble. I’m really grateful they’re responsive!

Well made, excellent quality, safe for full-grown hammies. My Syrian hamster absolutely loves it! Nice & sturdy, well balanced & won't tip over. My hammy who loves to chew has not tried to bite or chew this wheel. It is absolutely silent, and the wheel is smooth & solid, so it won't hurt hammy's feet. It's also big enough so that it won't strain an adult hammy's back.One of the great things about this wheel is that the height can be adjusted to suit the depth of the litter. My ham lives in a 10-gal aquarium, and the height of the wheel adjusted to half-way up is a perfect fit. The (M) medium-size wheel is too tall & wide for a 10-gal tank. The (S) wheel is pretty big overall, so check the measurements against the rest of the items you have in the cage (e.g. water bottle, sand box, food dish). It can also be removed easily & put back in if you want to change things up for your hamster's enrichment items. Seriously, this is the best wheel I've ever purchased. And, it's also super-easy to clean!

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this wheel for our gerbils after reading tons of reviews and doing quite a bit of research. Gerbils need at least a minimum of an 11 inch wheel so that they do not need to bend their back while running. They also can not have a wheel that’s just wire because their tails or little feet could get stuck in them. I ended up choosing this wheel because it was the right size, the reviews on how quiet it supposedly was, and the fact that they had multiple colors to choose from. The only thing I was worried about was getting it to connect to our wire cage. I knew it came with a stand but I wanted it mounted to our cage to save some space. With a few additional washers, we were able to easily attach it to the cage. We removed the front cover because it was a hazard for our gerbils tails. I did not want any tails getting accidentally caught on it. Our gerbils love to run on this wheel but also like to go to the bathroom on it. Luckily another positive, is that it’s very easy to clean. I just get a wet paper towel and can wipe it down pretty easily and quickly. I do wipe it down every day, I’m not sure if it would be harder to clean if you wait numerous days to wipe it down. Overall I would highly recommend this wheel. It’s versatile and can be used with the stand or attached to a wire cage, it’s super easy to clean, pretty quiet and comes in a variety of colors so that you can customize the look of your cage. Our gerbils love it and so do we!
