More comfortable home! Really good technology for saving on energy costs
This thermostat was super easy to install and set up. I wired it, popped it on the mount, entered my information, let it update, left it on automatic "learn" schedule and just let it rock. My house doesn't have any returns for the forced air system upstairs, so the upstairs gets very hot in the winter at night and the heat runs a lot. The remote temperature sensor (which comes with this kit) solved this problem very well. I have it set to work off the upstairs temperature sensor during the "night" schedule which by default is 10pm to 7am, which ended up being perfect for us. It makes the upstairs so much more comfortable at night and the heat runs a lot less. Just a quick catch-up when it switches back to the downstairs thermostat in the morning. Adding the remote temperature sensor in the settings is also a breeze, especially with the Nest app. And overall, it seems like this thermostat works more "smoothly" than the cheap battery-powered one we had before. The heat doesn't seem to run as long and create as many uncomfortably high temperature events as the old thermostat. The occupancy sensor and automatic "away" eco temperature settings also work very well. It almost immediately recognizes when nobody is home and switches the settings. We also have central air, so I may post an update on how well it works with that when summer comes. Note about installation: This thermostat is powered by the furnace, therefore requires the blue "common" wire to charge the thermostat battery. I thought I was missing the blue wire but it turned out the previous installer just cut it back at the cable sheath. I simply slid a little more slack through in the basement, re-stripped the cable, and got the blue wire back. Note I also precharged the thermostat with the USB micro port while I was working on fixing the wiring. Not sure if that was necessary, but it was completely off/dead when I received it.

Wow! Can't Believe I waited So Long.
My adult kids dragged me kicking and screaming into a fully automated connected-home, including the Google Nest thermostats. What was I waiting on? I love the ability to raise or lower the temp from my bed; switch from heat to cool or cool to heat; or just turn on the fan. All from the comfort of my bed, sofa or kitchen table. It also has unlimited scheduling ability, so you can tell it when to turn on, turn up, turn down, whatever. Plus it learns your cooling/heating preference as you adjust your heat/cooling throughout the day, and automatically adjusts your schedule for you. My wife loves the white, low profile mount. She thinks the metallic one looks tacky and bulky. This one is sleek, modern and disappears/blends into the wall.

worst product ever
I hired two different technicians to install it and no one can make it work. first one was the my contractor, the display wouldn't turn on. It was on for a second and turn black the next second. So I couldn't activate it since the display was on a second and turn off the next. I contacted Amazon but I couldn't get a refund because my contractor didn't install it a few months after I got it. As you may know, you can't install everything unless the house it's almost done. I hired a second guy who specialized in the area to install it since i couldn't get a refund, he showed me the wiring. It was so complicated than necessary. There is no way I could do it myself. Same problem, the display wouldn't show more than a second. Both technicians said the product is defected. I contacted the manufacturer. They wouldn't replace my unit because the warranty has expired. OMG, the unit has never worked since the day one. So much time and money was wasted. I wish I had never purchased the product.

Worth its money
We bought this thermostat because the old one wasn’t functioning anymore. I like it a lot because it’s very easy to use. You can schedule it when to heat your house at what temperature. The app provides you full control and the thermostat is very smart so it saves you money. The installation was very easy. About the temperature sensor, it works fine and it doesn’t occupy much space. The trim kit came with it but it wasn’t big enough to cover the paint but it’s okay. I’m sure that there are other brands out there but I highly recommend this google thermostat.

Easy to install, easy to use
We have had this for years now, 2 of them to control the different systems in our house. Upstairs and downstairs. They are nice looking, easy to set up, and compatible with older homes. The only downside is that our one keeps losing charge which might be an issue with the power supply. So it’s compatible but not ideal.

Not as smart as you’d expect
The auto schedule is terrible, and turning off the schedule all together is even worse. My energy star rated, super insulated and efficient new house was ALWAYS freezing. I have central air and forced air heat for reference. I had the thermostat set to warm if temp was below 70 degrees and cool if temp was above 74, and almost every day I’d walk in the room to find the temperature at 62 degrees. I tried to switch it to heat to 75 degrees and it would take an hour just to turn the heat on. I figured out that the temperature would stop swinging if I set the schedule to 72 degrees every hour, meaning it would never change, and that’s helped tremendously. But it’s been such a hassle and disappointment!

Works great
Easy to install. Works great. Having the Cool/Heat mode is amazing. I never have to switch between heat or cool, the thermostat will automatically run the furnace and AC when needed to keep temp within my designated range.
