It is VERY thin fabric. Don't expect to actually HOLD anything of any heavy weight in the backpack as you may pop some seams or poke a hole through it. Very soft, straps fit like a backpack and my daughter was thrilled with it as it looks JUST like it should. But it is really for looks and not too much use. Maybe some chapstick, keys and money...perhaps A book.

My granddaughter had to have this to go with her cosplay outfit. It's cute as a button and is made out of good quality materials. I was impressed.
