This trap works great. Simple and strong. Good size for skunks.

It does exactly what it should. I've caught nine squirrels in about 5 days. The trigger needs to be roughed up a little bit. As it is very touchy but it's an easy fix.

Update: Caught my first rat yesterday. Raised my review from 3 to 4 stars. After the modifications I made to the trap, it works perfectly. The metal is still substandard to the Havahart trap in my opinion, but good enough so far.I was hoping this would be the same as the Havahart trap I bought years ago and still have. It's not. The metal seems thinner and cheaper than to Havahart for sure. The latch has issues. I corrected it by squeezing the area with pliers where the latch goes into the sides of the trap, each side, front and back. Works much better now. We will see how it performs. Originally the latch was very stiff and would not latch properly. Hopefully the problem is solved with a few squeezes from the pliers.

I had a family of Chipmunks living in the attic. This trap comes in sealed plastic. I assume some of that reason is to keep human smell off it . I wore gloves to set it up right out of the box. The trap caught them 1 and 2 at a time. It’s big enough to easily capture squirrels, PackRats probably small skunks too. I couldn’t ask for it to work any better. WORKED REALLY WELL and will last for many years.

I bought 3 of the smaller version to rescue kittens. While the first few times using them they worked fine,over time however, the spring which is activated by the trip plate never "sprung" so the door wouldn't close. Frustrating when you plan out an entire rescue just to have return later and start from square one again.

Works great . Trapped 10 rats so far . These rats are getting in my chicken feeders so trapping them is easier no poison

This is a very sturdy trap. My goal was to catch and release rats. Problem, no rats would enter the trap, regardless of where I placed it or what bait was used. Tried it indoors and outdoors. On the first day outside, it immediately caught a squirrel even though I thought I had set it up to avoid that exact thing. So, if you are having trouble with squirrels and chipmunks it might come in handy. Things I didn't like is that the instructions on how to use/open the trap were inside the sprung trap. I had to figure out, on my own, how to open the trap to get to the instructions. Once you figure out how to use it, it is actually quite simple. If the instructions had been outside the trap, I would have given it a five. Once I figured out how to open the trap, I realized that, my fingers would be perilously close to the creature I would be releasing. My understanding is that this issue has been corrected in the new version. Also, the bottom of the trap is also the same metal grid that makes up the sides and top. This is unfortunate. Any animal caught in the trap can freely go to the bathroom and soak whatever the trap is sitting on. So, if you plan to relocate what you trap, be sure to place something under the trap to protect your vehicles interior. Because of the bottom's grid size, captured critters feet will hang out the bottom so try not to break their legs when setting the trap down. Another issue with this grid is there is no surface on which you can place food unless said food is larger than the grid.

Haven’t tried it yet, but setup looks simple enough. Seems sturdy.
