ROOMIEST DECISION I EVER MADE!
I just want to say that I have NOT been paid, offered money/reimbursement/discounts or gifted this item. I paid for this item and my review is my own without any influence. Now that that’s out of the way, if you are considering a soft rooftop storage solution and don’t want to commit to a hardtop, let this be the review you need! I took a vacation with my best friend and her 2 kids ages 7 & 9 and toddler age 1.5. The trip was about 15-17 hours each way due to distance and having to stop for multiple breaks for the kids…and if you have ever traveled with kids you know they want to bring all their favorite snacks, food, drinks, toys, blankies, iPads, gadgets, and well even room in a 7-8 person vehicle is still limited when you leave home for anything longer than 3-4 days with more than 4 people and we left for 12 days.I initially considered buying for a trip I have in late September, since I’m offering to be the carpool driver in my 7 person SUV and thought this trip would be a great test run for both quality and durability, as well as ease of use.I give this 5 stars hands down. It was a great purchase! I researched several brands, read countless reviews, examined the quality to the best of my ability and landed on this one. It was this or RoofPax and this one I do believe is far superior.Well packaged and easy to follow directions, I was able to get it setup and ready to go in 10 -15 mins the first time and then 5-10 mins the second time. It comes with a slip grip pad (same as the foam style anti-slip rug pad but with better grip) to put between your rooftop and bag. Great to keep from scratching the top and extra grip protection so it doesn’t slide around while in motion. It has several points of attachment with sturdy clips and additional attachment to accommodate vehicles without roof crossbars. The material is a nice heavy duty vinyl with a solid waterproof zipper that comes with “suitcase lock” setup for protection and a large overhang on the 3 sides with heavy duty velcro to cover and act as additional waterproofing for the zipper so nothing gets wets.As you can see from the photos, this SUV had crossbars but not side rails. It is setup to be used for side rails as best option due to the way the straps are attached to the bag. That said, I just turned it 90 degrees and decided that was how it was gonna have to be lol. Too late to worry and it was time to go!It worked flawlessly!! I purchased the 20 cubic feet and yeah… SO MUCH ROOM. Here’s the items I crammed into it only to realize I still had room for more:2 medium 25-27 in luggage suitcases (these are one size down from the largest)2 kids duffel bags3 pillows (king size)2 kids life vests1 toddler life vest suit1 toddler water inflatableA box of diapersA large telescopeA couple blankets2 carry bags of clothes from shopping on vacationAnd a few more small things that tucked in.Let me say we left with more than we started with and 90% was packed into this storage space and there was still room! Truly shocked by everything that fit in here! Seriously it’s worth the buy!Quality and durability is 5 stars as wellWe drove about 7 hours or so on the way back in several rainstorms of different intensities and intervals and nothing was wet when we arrived home. This is truly waterproof no matter what direction you have it, though it does have an intended directional for use. The straps are solid and didn’t stretch very much and I always checked them anyway time we stopped because I was paranoid about it not withstanding the wind speed and vibrations of driving but it didn’t flinch or break. On the way home I was able to not worry at all. I had complete faith in it!I’m a 34 year old single lady and I figured this out on the fly… literally unboxed in the driveway 30 mins before leaving and packed it myself while my friend wrangled the kids and last minute potty breaks. Having a friend or partner to help load and unload definitely helps but not required! Additionally, I saw the other brand I mentioned on several rooftops and mine not only looked way better, but those didn’t seem to be near as quality as this one and I’m glad I went with this brand!

Heavy duty, didn't affect gas efficiency
We LOVE this car topper. We purchased this right after our wedding so that we could get all of our stuff home. It was easy to put on top of our suv and to fill. It didn't cause any damage on the top of our car and what we found nifty was we tracked how it affected the gas efficiency (as we just had purchased our car the month before) and it literally had almost no effect at all. We were between a hard topper or this soft one but this worked really well! The only drawback, but it's something you can't avoid on any topper is the bug guts. We were driving through the mountains and as so, expected it to get covered. We were able to easily wipe it down and store it in our closet. Perfect for people living in small/urban spaces. No regrets!!

Worked great! Use a ratchet strap just in case.
This thing worried me on our 10 hour drive in the rain from Maryland to Georgia. We used the side racks since my car can go either way, but not both. The straps were just a little too short to use all of them and have them clip. I gave it four stars for the strap length. Since we only could use four straps I was freaking out a bit. Also since this thing is from China, just a bit unsure of the durability. If the front straps had broken for some reason, the whole thing would have flown off the car. They didn’t, and we went through some serious storms with high winds. I used a ratchet strap in the center that I knew was not going to break, even if the front straps did. Just a little insurance. I would recommend a ratchet in the middle, just in case. It’s an easy addition and I didn’t worry about it at all. The inside was completely dry, which I was not worried about given the thickness and design. It folded up nicely back into the bag. I doubt we will ever need it again, but if we do, I’ll be fine with it if I use a ratchet across the middle. Very durable material.

SO EASY AND SPACIOUS
We unexpectedly had a smaller rental car than promised AND an additional passenger on the ride from Kansas to Pennsylvania last week. Research began on luggage racks and other options, but all of my study kept bringing me back to the Meefar Roof Bag which seemed too good to be true. It was significantly cheaper than comparable weather proof, no-slide pad, options and the reviews and videos on installation and use were all solid. With much trepidation, we gave it a try and I cannot begin to tell you how impressed we were with:(1) EASE OF INSTALLATION - we only had two vertical bars on the rental car, but it very easily and securely attached to those. Getting the straps tight took a bit of muscle but that was to be expected and once locked in they hardly moved at all over the 1200 mile drive. I was stressed because there was very little information for an install on a car WITH vertical racks, but in retrospect that is because it is SO easy and intuitive that directions are not needed.(2) EASE OF USE DURING TRAVEL - The straps stayed taught during the 1200 mile drive through rain and bumpy (construction) roads at high rates of speed (perhaps even well in excess of the speed limits). We stopped to check and make efforts at tightening 2-3 times, but that was mostly due to our worry-wart nature and not to any real need. Indeed, the straps hadn't really loosened at any of those stops. The car was more sluggish on quick accelerations and got slightly worse gas mileage than the trip out without the bag (and extra person), but otherwise the bag was not noticeable to the driver or riders. Despite a few hours of rain, everything in the bag was bone dry upon our arrival in PA; and(3) SPACE - We packed 3 large suitcases, one small one and 2-3 backpacks/small duffles in the 20 cubic foot size. We were giddy at how much it held and perhaps got carried away when attempting to also load a large duffle bag at which point we could no longer get the bag fully zippered.I don't normally write reviews, but took the time to write this one because other people's reviews and videos were incredibly helpful to us in making this purchase. I am grateful for their taking time to help a fellow amazon sojourner and wanted to repay the favor to anyone else in need of a rooftop car bag.
