Excellent fit and finish
Well packed with lots of styrofoam. Some of the parts packages had split open but everything was present except the two sheet metal screws to fix the shelf in place. I thought some small parts were missing but it turned out they were already attached to components rather than being in a parts bag. The base was easy to assemble. The top is heavy and needs at least two people or, as I did, use of an engine lift. The belts are easy to fit and the tracking adjustment works well. I have it attached to a 3 hp cyclone dust collector and this seems to collect most of the dust; I am not sure anything less would capture enough dust - a problem with all edge sanders. In use it leaves a good finish with a 120 grit belt.

Functions very well.
This machine functions very well. It came with a 120 grit belt, which removes wood aggressively and leave a nice finish. It's also quieter than I expected Set up took two hours, doing it solo. The base is easily assembled by one man, but the top is pretty heavy. The cast iron table can be removed easily, which would have made things much easier, but I didn't recognize that this was possible until AFTER I got it into place.I've down graded this item one star due to the condition this it arrived in, and an electrical issue. The whole thing comes in one box - about 200 lbs worth. My box was upside down in the truck - I can only guess how many rotations it when through. Box was pretty beat up. It's a testament to the Jet packing engineers that so little was damaged - the belt guard was bent and an electrical box was cracked. I straightened the guard and taped cracked box. The electrical issue is based on a circuit breaker tripping. This machine comes set up for 115V use, and is rated at 18 - 19 amps. One out of five startups tripped the 20 amp breaker. I converted it to 220V operation and it works fine.As some others have mentioned, adjusting the belt drive to be at some precise predetermined angle to the table is a bit of a nuisance. Not a problem for 90 degrees, if you use a square, but there is no "stop" that can be set for repeat set ups. The "wobble" design that this machine uses to oscilate the belt up and down looks kinda weird but it works fine.Just in case you don't know, this this machine requires adequate dust collection.

Go ahead and buy it, you know you want it
Just added this to my tool collection, and it is very welcome. Helps take some of the boredom out of the sanding phase. Was delivered directly into my shop (nice). Well packaged with no damage. Set up was straight forward. Fit and finish was fine. They must have redesigned the belt cover in that it works well. Dust collection also works very well in edge sanding mode, not verygreat in the spindle sander configuration. I have done two simple modifications to the machine which has improved its performance. 1) installed a simple stop for the table adjustment to return to 90 and 180. 2) used a small scissors jack for table height adjustment (see photos). With these two changes it has become a very versatile machine.

All the parts were there. Big and heavy but you know that going in!
First off, the delivery went great. The truck driver wheeled it right into my garage for me. Everything was there nothing was damaged and the tool assembly went as expected. With so much exposed sanding area, I wouldn’t expect the dust collection to be awesome but I think it’s better than some have suggested. All I’ve done so far is sanded a piece of scrap wood that I had lying around and it was better than I expected, leaving a very smooth finish. Very happy so far. The tool seems very sturdy and I expect it will last a long time.

Oscillating Edge Sander
My new sander is good for the money. The oscillation method itself is not what I expected. Better machines have a mechanism that enables more movement up and down by gears under the table. The method used on this one is a tilting action on the pulley that simply changes the tracking of the belt a bit. The dust control connection must be removed for large inside radius sanding using the end drum, as well as for a belt change. An inconvenience I was trying to avoid by upgrading to this model. It does do the job though for most applications.

I use this to get perfect 1/8" reveals for flush inset cabinet doors
Works well for what I use it for. It is my first edge sander for sanding doors/ short drawer boxes. I use it for all sorts of edge sanding needs. I use this to get perfect 1/8" reveals for flush inset cabinet doors. It is far more versatile than a disc sander which I had for a short time before I returned it and bought this. My jet disc sander hand an unacceptable wobble in the plate even after I received a replacement from Jet. I returned it all together and bought this edge sander. I use it every single day in my cabinetry shop. It is definitely a no frills kind of thing. Adjusting the table by yourself isn't hard as I've seen some have mentioned. I just work one side at a time, lock off the side I start with, and level up the other to it. It has certainly paid for itself and keeps making me money. Eventually I'll replace it with a larger industrial unit, but for now, it continues to perform.

super sander
Very high quality, performed beyond manufacturers performance analysis. High recommended for work shop. All metal parts of heavy gauge steel. Recommend buying the mobile base unit which is also very high quality and easy to assemble.
