I have caught many of fish in this rod everything works great! Even better then that great customer service when I lost an eye protector and the bottom cap messaged them and they replaced the rod!

Love the pole. Reel not so much. Used 4 times, hairline fracture in reel, never dropped or abused. was over a month and Amazon wouldn't exchange or refund. Then the Richcat company came to rescue and replaced for free! Great company with solid gear!

I brought this to FL on vacation to do some surf fishing (8'). I was skeptical about how flimsy the tip section seemed, but I think it's actually what makes this pole work. The other sections of the pole are really stiff (they have to be because they are thin walled to allow the telescoping) so the tip section takes a lot of the shock off the rest of the sections. I was chucking 3 oz. pyramids (carefully) without issue. I caught pompano, lady fish and whiting without any problem. I also caught about six 2.5' to 3' sharks without any problem. The reel isn't "superior" quality but is functional and the drag worked better than my Diawa salt reel. I didn't buy it for the reel so I will replace it if and when it craps out. I hope the pole lasts for a few more trips. It seems like it should. Well worth what I paid!

I watched a video and read all the reviews but had to test it myself. First time at Redondo Beach Pier it held a stingray, my friend grabbed the pole and asked how much can it handle and I said I don’t know I just bought it! Held it good and the line is a 20 lb test. Took it to Malibu Pier and pulls up 3 fish no worries. Then to Marina Del Rey bait dock and pull bonitos, barracudas and big smelt so easy. I own a lot of poles but for some reason this is my favorite. Smooth reel and strong and I would suggest anyone to get this and see for yourself. It’s also very sensitive to feel so it’s easier for me than my deep sea to feel but I use both just to maximize my fishing game lolI bought it for travel bc it’s small enough to pack. I also clean the scales off every time after a day of fishing, don’t want it to mess with packing it inMy friends spend hundreds of dollars on reels and poles and I catch more most of the time 😉I think I’m gonna buy another bc it’s so great to work with plus the extended pole under my armpit helps when I’m fighting a fish

I bought this for a trip to the Alabama coast for surf fishing. When I got it I almost returned it. It felt cheaper than expected. I gave it a try one day, making sure to keep saltwater off of it, and rinsed it afterwards. The next day it was stuck completely and the handle wouldn't turn. I didn't have this issue with my budget freshwater rods.In general, the rod handle feels cheap and slippery. The reel mount feels very cheap and insecure. The reel looks and feels cheap. When seeing what I could buy locally and a certain big box retailer of general goods, I quickly regretted the purchase, but gave it a shot. After it locked up, while my other reels didn't, I returned it.

At first glance, it it looks terrific. The action on the reel is smooth. The rod feels solid but has great touch and flex. Looks like a decent quality rod and reel for the $$. Comes with a rod holder and bells so that was a nice bonus. TBD on performance as I have not used them yet. If it performs as good as it looks, it is an excellent value.
