Sax - 405099 All Media 14 ply Illustration Board - 15 x 20 inches - Pack of 10 - White

I haven't used official store-bought Illustration board, so I don't know how they compare, but I have been putting this material to the test! I have used inks, acrylic, and gouache over multiple pieces for art projects. This paper does not handle water very well. The paper absorbs, but cannot handle any brush scrubbing (even lightly) at all, the paper piles like wet tissue. The colors of gouache appear very dull unless you layer a lot of pigment, which can be tricky with gouache. Black acrylic, with less water, did just fine (no scrubbing). Ink did just fine.Boards are sturdy and durable for non-water applications. Smooth surface, no tooth/very very little tooth.

I used one of these in a high school drawing class and was happy to find the exact product available here. I've both painted on these and done big zentangles with Sharpie markers. Both worked well. No real complaints with the product, but it'd always be nice to pay less.

Nice quality boards, reasonable price for ten boards.

For a lower level illustration board it holds up well. Kind of curls with wet media but is easily corrected with wetting the back to counter it. Great for dry media with no issues

Excellent quality for artists of all levels.

As an art student (Oil Paint) I find that painting on canvas is a bit expensive for practice sessions. Illustration board, on the other hand is perfect. Sax 14 ply is sturdy, takes Gesso well and can be cut to size. I 'm able to do a l lot of lessons for a very reasonable price.

Needed this for college art program and couldn't find it in any retailer - found online on Amazon and it came as a pack of 10 which is good since I will be using it. The packaging was fantastic! It was contained with proper packing from the manufacturer as well as packaged again by Amazon, everything to ensure that no dents, dings or damage to the papers - so happy when it arrived!!
