Nice texture, not spiral bound
I tried a few tests on this paper with different kinds of charcoal (pencils, sticks, etc., at different angles), smudging effects, erasing, . Just a quick test. It's good enough for my needs. I can draw on printer paper, ha, but that has no weight or texture at all. I like the weight and texture of this paper. It has versatile uses. I haven't tried chalk or oil pastels on this.I think others have said the pages don't tear out smoothly. I don't think many sketch pads have pages that tear out smoothly. I tried tearing out a few sheets (carefully) and got rough edges on the paper. The rough edges could be cut off, but then you would need a paper cutter. I don't want to fool with all that trouble right now. That is why I gave this four stars.I do not like spiral bound sketch pads or perforated sheets., Both of those are a pain to me. The spirals get in my way and are cumbersome when I want to sketch tall or wide, upside down, etc. I'm old school, so I can be a bit picky about some things. Anyway, this looks good, so far. I think I can work with this, if the buildup of leftover edges from torn pages don't get in my way of flipping the cover. I'd say it's worth a try for the price.
