SCHLAGEF40 FLA 609 Flair Door Lever, Bed & Bath Privacy Lock, Antique Brass

Love them but measure door knob opening first if you have an older home.
I fell in love with a door knob at a supply company. It was $111.00, YIKES ! I need to replace about 10. This is enough of a look alike that I am pleased. It is sturdy, shiney and works well at the same time being good looking. Much easier to open than the round knobs if you have any hand or wrist issues or an arm full of items.Just measure first. I have a 40 year old home. The door knob holes were smaller. The hole had to be drilled out and that took awhile.Very pleased and would buy again.

Latches for half of my order stick, then moves and makes noise
I have the Brookshire Privacy Flair lever. I bought 10 of them for my interior doors. They look great! My problem with them is that half of my latches make noise. This only matters if you are noise sensitive at night and preventing any noise. I slowly open the lever to prevent noise, but the latch hangs/catches then releases making a little snap sound of the latch. It happens to half of my order. Very annoying if you want a quiet door to open!

Great looking and good value
The media could not be loaded. I needed to buy more dummy handles for some new closet doors, but the brand I had was super expensive so I wanted to look elsewhere. I found these and figured at this price and a brand name (Schlage) how bad can it be - besides, the other reviews looked positive. The installation was a breeze - simply position them and install 2 screws. The finish and style look great and mimic the expensive brand quite well. I would have given 5 starts except for one issue: the handle has a slight wiggle (see attached video). It's not the end of the world, but it just seems the design should have eliminated any such annoyance. For this reason, I give this product 4 stars for overall rating..

Good quality door hardware 12 years later
I purchased a Schalge locking privacy door lever in bright chrome from Amazon for my master bedroom. The existing fixture was the non-locking version installed 12 years ago. Installation was simple since I was replacing existing Schlage hardwaredidn't have to remove the existing door strike and slide latch. As you can see from the photograph, this new locking lever (left door) and the 12 year old dummy lever (right door) are practically identical and you may not even know they were installed 12 years apart. They hold up pretty well.If I have to gripe about one thing, the edges of the metal collar that butt up to the door had some stamping wrinkles from manufacturing. The collar will pop off if you pry on it a little bit so I was able to rotate the collar so that I didn't see any wrinkles - so no big deal. Still a 4.5-5 star product.

The Callington is also nice. It was tempting
The oil-rubbed bronze finish is dark and classic. The Brookshire Rose rosette is elegant. We chose the Flair style scrolled handle. The Callington is also nice. It was tempting. But in the end, we chose the slightly thicker Flair style. The levers are solid and the latch is sturdy. We find that they wiggle a bit more than we expected, but this is not too bad.Reversing the handedness is a piece of cake. Incidentally, I installed half of my 30 levers backwards until I discovered from a dummy lever what I had done (dummy levers cannot be reversed). The lever should be installed (as depicted in the photo if I had bothered to look) with the curve looping up from the center and down and the outer end. This way, the user's down-turned palm fits smoothly at the peak of the curve to push down the lever. It does not make a difference, of course, which way one orients the lever. It works both ways. Thinking of a right-handed lever as the face of a clock, one can pull the lever from 3 o'clock to noon or from 3 o'clock to six. Either way retracts the latch as well. As for that the latch retracts fully with slightly less than 90 degrees turn and springs back to its extended state fairly quietly, even when allowed to snap back freely (guaranteed, the kids are not going to guide the lever gently back in place). This gives it the feel of a sturdy lever.I expected the lever to be more substantial, but for the price, I can't complain. The design of the lever makes it foolproof to install (well, unless you install it upside down as I did). The lever is guaranteed to be perpendicular to the edge of the door with both levers aligned to each other, perpendicular to the rosettes behind them. [One has to be more careful with the dummy version to align the rosette and lever as this has no interlocking part on the other side of the door].We use this passage lever to replace a Kwikset lever on our kitchen door. Compared to the Schlage, it was difficult to install and align, difficult to reverse handedness; it did not ever align with the strikeplate properly, and over a period of seven months had to be re-tightened several times and eventually the latch malfunctioned. In contrast, although this Schlage lever has only been in place for close to two months, it closes gently and perfectly (although installed in the exact same door and strikeplate position as the Kwikset. It is as tightly attached as the day we installed it. Only time will tell if the Aged Bronze finish stands up to the humid Florida weather. When we bought our house as a foreclosure, there were no interior doorknobs or levers. We searched and researched for several months to find just the right lever at a decent price (try explaining to guests why there is a circular hole in the bathroom door where the privacy knob should be). We wanted a lever that would convey both elegance and sturdiness. With our Schlage levers, we not only fulfilled that expectation, but got a quality functional mechanism that was very easy to install.

Expensive but a good product
The last time I tried to swap out a door knob it didn’t go well. This time was great. I bought the chrome finish flair levers to match other doors in the hallway. One of the handles I needed to reverse and that was simpler than I expected. I also appreciated there were different faceplate options and I installed one before switching to another that worked better. The directions could have been a little clearer but it worked out well.

Antique brass looks fantastic
This is a standard passage lock. Came with everything needed and was easy to install. Really like the look of the antique brass. Highly recommended.

This is a case of, “you get what you pay for!”
A great finish, very easy to install , English instructions written by someone fluent in English - makes them easy to follow. All done they look great! I installed 2 sets in one part of the house and will be ordering another 5 sets for another part.

Does not look like this.
Product does not match the picture. Was able to use the other lever door knobs that were delivered and was fully reimbursed for the error since the delivered item not on the website and guarantee could not be substantiated. Thank you, Amazon for reimbursement. Great job in satisfaction.

Wrong Picture/Wrong Handle
The lever handle pictured is NOT the lever handle delivered. The corresponding product number is correct on the box as well however the handle is NOT the one as shown on the website. Spoke to customer rep who re-ordered handles but replacement order was same problem. Spoke to rep again to return original order and replacement order for refund.

it's a genuine Schlage !
Recently broke a lever which was installed over 20 years ago. Impossible to find matching finish, till I found this one. It is the exact Schlage in bronze finish as the original, for a very reasonable price, delivered the same day.
