A+ recommend for glasses wearers! fantastic product.
these are a great addition to glasses with protective lenses. these protect the sides of the eye, where regular glasses do not. this is my second order and we have used these H.L. Bouton slide-on sidesheilds from the seller VisionAid since november 2016. the person who wears them works in a blacksmith shop and their main function is to run the grinder wheel most of the day sharpening tools. he wears a face shield, but we had 2 scares where he got metal in his eye. then we found THESE. no issues since. he takes them off and puts them on every day, and we ordered 3 pair last time. he just wore through his last pair and we had to order more. theoretically, if you left them on your work glasses, they could stay fine forever. but he removes his daily. eventually the little holder piece wears out. its also important to note that he is not gentle on ANYTHING. so that also is a factor. TL:DR great product. 2nd order. after 3rd pair of original order from 11/2016 wore out.

Works perfectly on all my glasses
I'm an NYC ER RN. ER saying,"Safety glasses are cheaper than eye transplants." I'm fussy about eye safety. These inexpensive items turn my safety glasses to safety glasses with effective eye shields. Are side shields important? In a word, "Yes". Side "blunt/sharp/agent" trauma to the eye is less common than forward trauma but it happens all the time. These fit all my glasses - large lens safety glasses, medium lens every day glasses - and go on/off easily and quickly. They are pliant and conforms easily to arm and lens shape and trims easily if necessary. And they are modest in price.

These Satisfy Almost Everyone
These are great side shields and are plenty functional. I wear prescription glasses and I travel to machines shops in many states in my work. The only down side is that some shops I go into will not accept detachable side shields, and they make me put on the Harry Caray safety glasses over my regular ones. These will prevent that in 90% of shops that require side shields, in my experience, and you can still fairly easily take them off after leaving work and driving home to restore your peripheral vision.

The right solution
When one of the stock side shields broke on my prescription safety glasses I needed a quick solution as they are required in my job. These items solved the problem. They are nice quality and bear the Z87 mark of compliance so there's no question about their use in an industrial environment. They are pliable enough that they slipped over the bows on my glasses with little effort and stay in place reliably. The lips which hug the lenses to hold them from sliding backward do contribute to a "tunnel vision" feeling. I don't think that's avoidable in slip-on shields as ANSI requires some mechanism to hold them in place. I think any compliant shields are going to have this issue. All in all a very acceptable and cost effective solution.

Great for Dry Eyes but Sticky and Not Clear
I'm delighted that these side shields do exactly what I need them to do. I have very dry eyes (Computer Vision Syndrome exacerbated by Sjogren's,) and this spring found myself unable to tolerate my ceiling fans. In my climate I have for years operated ceiling fans continuously outside of heating season. These side shields cut the breeze well enough that I am now able to enjoy my ceiling fans without the discomfort and pain of dry eyes. I deducted one star because they are not clear. They are instead entirely frosted with small white dots. I deducted a second star because they arrived coated with sticky resin that transferred to my fingers and wouldn't wash off with soap and water. After washing the sideshields, I let them air for several weeks in the hope that the resin would evaporate or harden and it did. I believe the evaporated resin is what caused the white dots to form, because I think they were fairly clear when they first arrived.

Great alternative!
YES! I'm not someone who needs safety glasses as an ongoing thing. I have an office job, so I only need safety glasses for the odd power tool project, BUT - I will soon need to visit a plant to help in an 8 week total inventory project. I'd be looking at those plastic glasses that fit over my specs and are unwieldy and hard to see thru. A plant buddy recommended these side shields, and assured me they're OSHA certified, so I spent the 3+ bucks and gambled. They're awesome! They'll work fine for me, and at some point I'll order more for family members. 5 stars. Only hint, there is a right way and a wrong way to put them on. You want to put the smaller side to the top... you'll figure it out.

strongly recommend polycarbonate instead
These are soft, deformable plastic side-shields that are about 2 mm thick. The maximum lens height that can be accommodated is 35 mm. The ones I received are stamped "Vision Aid USA" and "Z87" and may not be identical to slip-on side shields that are HL Bouton branded. My big complaint is the terrible optical properties of the plastic. It distorts everything, so that your peripheral vision is filled with light and color, which is distracting, but you can't actually see anything in your peripheral vision. If you have ever used "drinking goggles" that simulate the experience of being drunk - the experience is somewhat like those. My secondary concern is with the deformability of the plastic. The plastic may be thick enough to absorb an impact from a small particle, but because it is so soft, the side shield does not grip the frame firmly. Any impact may simply push the side shield out of the way, rather than deflecting the incoming particle. I strongly recommend stiff polycarbonate side shields instead, which have excellent optical properties and can be tightly attached to the frame. I ordered some from "safetyglassesusa.com" because I did not find any on Amazon.
