Very nice and heavy duty
These are real metal. Not plastic crap most make now and days. Very nice chrome. The only plastic is the cover that goes against the wall. Replaced a pfister and there’s no comparison on the quality.

It’s beautiful heavy metal valves and faucet. However don’t fit my old pipes.
Looking at this item for months, went through all the Q & A , feedbacks. Lots of people said it fits their old pipes and no need to touch the wall. Trying to search for photos and video everywhere. Never able to find out what’s inside the box and what kind of stems it’s has. Finally cross my fingers and order it.Open the box and saw it comes with the pipe. And the stems completely different from my old American Standard stems.Disappointed and returned it right the way.Just never understand why it’s so difficult for such a big company to put up more photos to promote and help customers to buy their products.Took a photo of what’s inside the box and how’s the stem looks like.Hope it will help you to find out if it fits your existing pipes. Of course, new installation will not have the same problem as mine.

Nice tub/shower set for the $$
Nice tub/shower set for the $$. While all plumbing products in the past 2 decades have suffered from less and less quality - that is driven by the public's desire to pay less and less - so there you go...This set performs as one would expect for a mid-range Am Std. 3 valve - 1/4 turn unit. Installed very nicely in the wall and the trim is also nice. Some customers have complained about plastic parts failing, some of the failures may indeed be Am Std's fault as they strive to hit a retail price point, but I suspect some of the complaints are installer/user errors. Yes, the wall escutcheons are indeed chrome plated plastic - by design I suspect. Being plastic, by definition, the flexibility permits a nice seal (without any or much plumbers putty) against the wall tile. This flexibility is especially helpful if spanning 2-4 separate tiles that may not all be in precisely the same plane. Plastic does mean you can't go gorilla to press a tighter fit than reasonable for a lightweight material or to span great differences in tile heights. Leveling to be done with putty, not the trim. For those of us more used to full rotation on tub valves, I can see where 1/4 turn units can be abused without realizing it. The trim handles indeed interface with a plastic part(s) (industry standard arrangement) and over rotation with a strong hand may lead to failed attachment parts. I'm not sure I'd recommend 1/4 turns for kids or others who are not a bit delicate when it comes to adjusting water temp's. I believe there is a reason the Am Std. uses such a small set screw to hold the handle trim to the valve - smaller means less pressure required to mate the two together. No need to twist your allen wrench into a pretzel to make sufficient connection - so don't your liable to break something.I rated 4 stars rather than 5 as there are indeed better faucet sets in the marketplace - albeit at a substantially higher price. Yes, nice product, should last and look well for some years to come.

An excellent upgrade for older shower valves
I purchased this unit in order to replace an older shower valve that was completely worn out, without tearing any tile or walls down. It fit perfectly. The valve handles are metal, not cheap plastic. If you need to replace old shower valves with 8 inch centers, give this unit a try.

Still okay after one year
Installed by professional plumber about 16 months ago. Still working fine (as it should be) although the center handle has begun to loosen on its stem. These handles are tightened using a tiny Allen wrench on a tiny little screw...a really stupid way to attach a faucet handle, given how much daily abuse they get. Oh well, they all seems to come this way, at least in this price range!

Tub fills quickly.
It was all about how quickly I could fill the tub. Try looking for GPM to the spout on the specs of other products. Most will tell you the water flow to the shower head. This delivers about 15 GPM with 40 PSI supplied. Nice product and works great. I used a different shower head adding a bit to my cost. Overall, this is a great product complete with trim and valve. Great value.

Picture is a misrepresentation of the actual product
The picture is a misrepresentation of the actual product. The weird thing is that all handles point downwards win the off position.... The contractor who did my bathroom had to call American Standard several times as the instructions were difficult to decipher, I even called them myself a few times. Didn't know if the wall had to be opened up (ugh) or the handles weren't installed properly, finally after many calls and e-mails they said the handles were not installed properly. I was having to turn the handles inwards towards the tub spout to turn the water on and the middle handle is totally reversed. One positive thing I can say is that the water pressure is good and the handles are sturdy. They should really fix the picture as all handles point down in the off position.

Looks nice/functions well
We live in a 70s house that needs 2 handles for the hot/cold and one more for the shower. They are becoming scarcer and scarcer and the handle broke on the one we bought previously - it barely lasted a year. This one is better quality, especially for the price. We were happy to have found this replacement. It looks very nice and functions well. The plumber we used told me this one it should last many years.

Great Set
Wound up returning as the plumbing in the house didn't match the set (no diverter installed) but the set was very sturdy and in great condition.Would recommend.

Good unit
The unit is heavy duty. The only problem I having is to replace my old faucet which was 11inches. This one come in 8 inches therefore have to return the unit
