Needs Frequent Cleaning
Preface: I've owned a set of Bones Swiss Ceramic bearings (yes, the $160 bearings) for a couple of years now, so any ceramic bearing I try is going to be compared to my experience with those. Also, I exclusively use them for longboarding, and probably ride between 20 and 50 miles a week on them - that's my base.Out of the box, I was impressed with these - they have shields on both sides, which the Bones ceramics lack, so I figured these would stay clean for a long time. They broke in well enough, and seemed pretty good compared to the non-ceramic bearings I use. By the time I assumed they'd start getting into their groove, they became dirty and needed to be cleaned.I skate in the same place all the time (a large local park with 1.5 mile walking path which loops around the entire park), and I don't recall skating through any more dirt than usual. No biggie, I simply figured it would be an interesting experience to now clean them and add the same lubricant to them that I use for my other ceramic bearings (Bones Speed Cream). Once I did that, they were working great again, but, as happened the first time, they became dirty in short order. I don't know what is causing that. I replaced the shields perfectly, it's not like I screwed that up, so... I just don't know.I really wanted these to be a cheaper alternative to the Bones ceramics, since they're far more affordable, but... they just haven't measured up. I wonder if having shields on both sides allows any dirt that gets in to just start caking within the bearing, not allowing it to escape. I don't know. YMMV, of course. They're not terrible, mind you, just not sure they're worth the price compared to maybe some regular steel Bones bearings. I'll update this review if things change, as I only recently got these (a couple months ago).

Fast and smooth
Even with the unbroken in factory grease these are pretty fast. Running them on 90mm wheels, so maybe not as noticable speedwise, but they seem faster, tighter and smoother that the Bronson Raws I was running prior.

Solid after break in
These work really well after about a week of breaking them in (if you skate often maybe sooner). At first they seemed like nothing to write home about, almost a disappointment. But after riding them for a while it was like a switched was flipped and they seemed to really shine. The cleaning kit is nice too although I haven’t used on these bearing a cleaned a friends bearings and it worked great. I’d recommend but just wanted to give a warning that it could take some time to break them in and actually feel the “value” of them.
