Got this set for my 5 yr old grandson. He loves it. He likes learning the names of the different gems.

My 4 yr old granddaughter picks up stones everywhere she goes, so I bought her this kit. I've never seen a kid so excited over a box of rocks before! The chart included is great to help them learn how to identify different kinds of rocks and gems. She's now looking forward to visiting an actual dig site where she can dig up treasures on her own.

A great mixture of polished stones.

Ive been ordering the 10 and 15 lb boxes of this item consistently for over a year now, and considering the price, the product is very good. You can find similar stones in a crystal boutique and pay 2000% more for one piece, than you would as a part of a big box like this (not kidding.) However, my only complaint would be that initially the boxes had a nice variety will many colors and types of stones, but lately the boxes have been predominantly white, black, and brown chunks, with not a lot of color variation.

I bought these to give out along with my Halloween candy, it was a blast and the kids were SO excited to pick out their different stones!

It’s a box of rocks. It keeps my kids entertained and there’s enough in there that they don’t have to fight over them, like they do with some of the smaller assortment of rocks that they have. They even felt comfortable enough choosing some to give to their school friends since there were so many. Worth the price to end all the fighting and hoarding of shiny rocks in my household.

Used these polished stones for a digging game at a Minecraft party and they were great

I purchased this set for my grandson who has shown a budding interest in geology as he’s learning about volcanoes, tectonic plates and the periods of time that we use to describe the evolution of the planet. I thought that it might be an idea to nurture his interest in a more tactile and physical activity by presenting him with this exciting mixture of gems and minerals and the identification chart and characteristics definitions contained there in. I also purchased a small magnifying glass and one with an ultraviolet sensor to aid in matching the gems to the images and descriptions in the charts. His response has been most encouraging and has also peaked the interest of his other siblings, cousins and friends. So, all good and positive and I might now find myself as the founder of a whole new society. The product itself, is good value for the money, well packaged, fully comprehensively designed with characteristics chart included. Delivered promptly and I was able to track it through every single step of the whole process.

To be fair I wasn't expecting much else. I just don't get the shiny stone thing. Only bought them as I was forced to buy them by my kids!
