Use these to mark our 230' long driveway
These are a lot stronger than they appear! That being said where you put them and what you haves under them make a HUGE difference. Yes you can drive over them (I've backed our travel trailer over them a number of times) but if you don't have the right base under the lights, the bottom of the housing will push up (and break) under the weight. I ended up putting a ~5x9" piece of wood under them for support and no further problems. I Highly suggest installing these about 1/2" to 3/4" under the grade so the mowers (or plows) don't take them out. Lastly, I replaced the bulbs with weather resistant LEDs bulbs (2 or 2.5 Watt from Amazon), they are plenty bright and last about 9-12 months on average. You need to use the weather resistant bulbs because the housings will get some water in them from rain and/or condensation.

Nice product but don't be naive
Over time...about 6-8 years from my 20+ year experience, the plastic tabs of the unit which hold the lens will weaken and eventually disintegrate... whether because of UV rays or salting during ice and snow removal.. if you desire these in driveway or near driveway approaches.. be prepared to change out more than a bulb every few years.. I have about 20 along my driveway walls.. and I decided a case box was the best angle with 8 or 9 units in 15 year old conditions from fair to poor & a few bowed out so and even the lens won't go on at all after removal .. these take direct sunlight on most every day & we get it here.. my drive is asphalt with paver borders.. it gets hot during summer 3H bakes... I never run the lights in the daylight ... in any case, the lens will yellow.. sometimes it will drastically affect the light output.. sometimes not.. also... if you place these along a low side driveway water run during rain they will take on water... they are in no way water resistant or water proof.. hot bulbs may not dig being flooded with water, dirt, mud, and later actual plants will grow inside like a hot house if you fail to clean them out and wash the lens undersides.... the LEDs I use have been durable enough despite this.Rather than fight all that... with the full case... I just change out and rewire any units that start fading after 6 or 7 years..I can't say I've seen any better approach to ground paver lighting so far... and the reflection off the walls is pleasant with the LED lights I subbed for their bulb...Just don't let yourself believe they are maintenance free or lifetime durability in any way..
