You could spend half your life on the floor, doing crunch after crunch after crunch after crunch...or you could get a pair of ab straps and get more dramatic results with a few modest sets. My inaugural run with these straps was comprised of three sets: 4, 4, and 7 reps. I couldn't manage another leg raise, but I wasn't feeling the typical "burn" I get from crunches. I was ready to declare the ab straps another gimmicky, ineffectual device...until the next day. Over the course of the day pain began to blossom in my abdominal muscles and grew in intensity until evening rolled around and a mere sneeze made me want to cry. Ouchie. The power of the ab straps is not to be underestimated. A caveat: If you're female, or an out-of-shape guy, you're probably going to struggle a bit (at first) with the physical demand these straps place on the upper body. Think about it: you're essentially supporting your entire body weight on your arms, and surrounding muscles are going to be working like gangbusters to make that happen. I couldn't believe my arms didn't pop right out of my shoulder sockets the first time around. It felt like a distinct possibility! The good news is that you're increasing upper body strength along with abdominal strength. Win-win!I love everything about these straps, including how well they work in conjunction with the Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar. The only thing I would change is the addition of a little extra padding. A little more padding in the lower portion of the strap would make them absolutely perfect.

I have always heard good things about the company Valeo and their equipment so decided to order these on April 24th, 2020, arrived a few days later. Been using them about every other day for approximately 6 weeks when one of the buttons broke off already. I will try to contact the manufacturer to see if they can replace it. Besides that I am happy with product, seems very durable and well made....except for this small button piece.

Good quality and good value. The fabric is very strong and it has some padding, which is nice. I wanted to write a review because I was concerned about the carabiners being the right size for my pull-up bar. The smaller side of the carabiner fits my 1.5" pull-up bar perfectly. If you've got a wider bar, the larger side of the carabiner will probably work for the bar, but the smaller side will crimp up the fabric. My only complaint is that I wish the overall length of the straps was longer. My pull-up bar is 90" high - which is a good height for someone around 6' - but the strap length forces me to stand on a stool to get properly situated. If they were longer I'd easily say five stars.

As a result of moving to a new gym I was disappointed to find that they did not have any ab straps for doing hanging leg raises - this should be a requirement for all gyms! My old gym had Ab-Originals, which were terrific even if they were quite well worn from getting a lot of use. So, I purchased the Valeo Ab Straps, in part because they were less expensive and in part because they looked to be better. In terms of quality of materials, yes, they are better. Heavy duty fabric with serious carabiners for serious weight. The problems come in when you use them. First, the material is so thick that they never 'relax' and hang down. I've used them a bunch of times and they still sit like flat pancakes when attached to the Smith Machine, instead of hanging low. And that brings up the biggest problem - they're too high up. The straps don't have extra material to allow them to hang low AND because the fabric is so stiff, you need a serious step stool just to reach them.I'm 5'9" - not towering but I should be able to reach these without all the work. Net, net, consider others first unless you're seriously overweight, in which case these are built for you.

Love these ab straps. I purchased this after having purchased another brand online. On amazon they are sold for $50. I noticed they were not as durable and the hooks as well as hanging straps were too long and affected the range of motion even when hanging on a cable machine.These straps Valeo are not only comfortable but were made well and I can fully extend my legs without hitting the ground.

I have use this product for years at gyms I worked at and now at home.I have seen more gains in abdominal muscle development, toning, and fat loss in individualsand myself,using this type of product than with any other abdominal exercise product there is. There are nopressure points on the back that feel pain such as when doing a crunch or a sit up. The straps allowyou to totally focus on the abdominal muscles as you do the exercises. The routings you can come up withare almost endless allowing you to keep you body from getting to use to any one routine so your gains are continual.Keeping the same routine over and over, day in and day out is not good as your body gets used to it and gets lazy tochange. changing your routine keeps your body changing.Great Product!!!

I bought these because I wanted to be able to work my abs more than just the 3 days that I go to the gym during the week. The carabiners fit very nicely on my pullup bar in my doorway. The straps themselves are very comfortable to lay your arms in. I think its awesome that you have several choices as to how you can arrange your fingers while holding yourself up. You're bound to find a comfortable position and stick to it. They come out of the package ready to be placed onto your pullup bar, no assembly required. These straps give my abs a more intense workout compared to the stationary hanging leg raise machine at my gym (which does not use straps) and for the price, you can't go wrong with this product.

links were bigger and bulkier than expected but this is some damn fine quality. i assure you these will not break as long at youre under say... 600 or so pounds, and you will get what you need out of them. you can always tell when something is under strain if you put weight on it and with these you wont feel that. In fact, at 240 pounds they made me feel like a toddler on the big boy bikes. you will have these for a LONG time. Valeo never spares in making something strong as hell.

Great Quality! Much better than I expected them to be! Heavy material and padding, with an extra large, very strong, locking D-Clamp that should fit over and fasten onto almost any size bar or rack! I looked at a lot of Ab Strap designs before I made my purchase - and the overall design; the fact that it comes with a pair of locking D-Clamps, and not just the lighter spring loaded kind of D-Clamp that comes with many others; and it's price - gave me the Best Overall Quality, for a much more affordable price than many others of lesser quality ab straps that are available on Amazon. For me purchasing this pair of Ab Staps was a no brainer, and definitely gives me the most bang for my buck so-to-speak!For those that expressed their disappointment by saying that it scratches the finish on their bars or racks - just apply some hockey or baseball bat tape around the top of the D-Ring, where it will have contact with either the bar or rack they are hanging them on. I did this right out of the box and can pretty much guarantee that I will never have that problem. Very strong, very well made straps that I would recommend to anyone who is wanting to purchase a pair!
