I am happy with the chess game. It's well built, and just what I wanted.

Taking a summer road-trip this year and I wanted a travel chess-set for the kids, this one fits the bill perfectly. It’s a nice enough that it doesn’t feel like a cheap toy, but it’s also not so fancy that I wouldn’t want to let the kids use it. The magnets hold the pieces in place while driving and the storage compartment has a nice foam insert with cutouts for each piece. Of course the board then folds over and locks for storage, and once it’s closed it fits just fine under the seat. I just wish it came with a cloth bag or sleeve because I can see the board getting scratched without it. For now we'll use the cardboard box it came in, let's see how long that lasts.

When folded open the squares did not line up, stuck out like a sore thumb. Also on one of the bishops the sticker was coming loose right out of the box.After contacting customer service I have been sent a replacement board. Im glad they addressed the issue, all in all a great chess set.

We often have issues with the way products smell with our kid with some sensory struggles. One of his favorite things about this chess set compared to others is the great SMELL! He goes back to smell the pieces the whole time he uses it because it smells like a cedar wood chest!! Super excited not to have a plastic smelling set for him— even when you open the box to take out the pieces. He even loves the way the pieces look too— was super excited there were two queens in the set!Great quality, affordable— highly recommend. Been through quite a few sets because of quality issues but this is a winner!!!Will update with pics.
