It was what I expected, general detail, most was about transmission, but I am having torque converter TC) issues and it includes some, but not much detail. TC info would definitely be secondary to transmission info, so be it.

A must have if you have an older Tacoma and want to do essential maintenance and tune-ups yourself to save some money. It's a lot easier than one would think to do the majority of the tune-up tasks. This Haynes Repair Manual has lots of great diagrams, a very well organized chapters, and good step-by-step instructions. The instructions aren't incredibly detailed, but are sufficient to get you started. With this manual, youtube videos, and online forums for help, you'll be able to fix nearly anything that goes wrong with your truck. I have a 1999 Tacoma.

I bought my truck last year and being 22 years old she needs some repairs. I've always turned my own wrenches and a step by step makes the work flow smoothly. I've always enjoyed getting used manuals, I look for the greasy fingerprints . That shows me the issue the last owner had with their ride.

I purchased this manual specifically to work on brake replacement and adjustment for a 1997 Toyota 4Runner. I find the manual to be very marginal - not enough large pictures to actually see how the brake components are properly placed. The work effort descriptions are pretty vague and not nearly detailed enough for an inexperienced mechanic. I have worked on cars for over 40 years and I found this manual to only be a good general guide. But, having said all of that, it is better than not having any manual at all!
