When we added a covered deck to our house we made sure to build in a natural gas outlet so that we could run a heater. This greatly extends deck season, and lets us work outside in the morning and have outdoor drinks after dinner. The manufacturer was clear that the radiant version is better for drafty areas, and it's clear that this was the right choice for an outdoor location that gets some wind.The heater was simple to install once I determined the parts I needed. Our gas outlet has quick-connect plugs with male plugs included so in my case all I needed was:* A GASPRO 24' 3/8" hose kit (so that I can move the heater around my deck)* A Litorange elbow adapter with 3/8" Male (heater side) and 3/8" Flare (hose side) endsBoth came with PFTE tape, so you don't need that.Using tape, I screwed the Male end of the elbow joint into the heater, and the Flare end to the hose, and plugged the other end of the hose into the gas outlet. I had to wait several minutes for the gas to make its way through the long hose, but when it finally got there and the pilot lit easily.It is unfortunate that you can't adjust the actual heat level, instead the built-in thermostat cycles the heat on and off to keep an average heat level. This means you tend to alternate between a little too hot and a little too cold, but it isn't that big a deal.I also got the blower. It's small and a little too loud for my wife's tastes, but I use it when I'm by myself. I think it helps moderate the too hot/too cold problem a bit by keeping the air circulating more.Because the pilot lights very quickly I tend to turn it all the way off when not using, so as not to waste gas on the pilot.It's been a week and there have been absolutely no problems. I do anticipate that keeping it outside (covered, next to a wall) will shorten its lifespan to some degree, but it still seems like a bargain. Highly recommended.

I purchased this heater along with all the other items listed in another review in order to use flexible hose and install the heater in a basement. Couldn't be happier and it is nice and hot. As others have mentioned, the burners are ALWAYS on, no way of adjusting the heat output, but since my basement is cold it works for me. I would not use this in a living room.

Wow, this was an inexpensive solution to a troublesome problem; an add on sunroom with lots of windows, that is not tied into the central air system. So far, it has been a warm start to winter here, but this easy to operate heater easily knocks the chill off of cool evenings. It will easily address cold winter nights too.As others noted, mounting a fan just above the heater has helped to moved warm/hot around the room quickly.Note that the Thermostat dial (1-5) does not chage the intensity of heaters output, the output is the same all the time. The dial setting dictates how often the unit shuts off to maintain a desired temperature.The difficulty in installation will be determined by your access to natural gas lines. Thankfully my only place for installation conveniently had a line in the laundry room on the other side of the wall.I have other Mr. Heater products...they seem to be well made and have proven to be durable and effective.

I have an 840 sq. ft. Pool house. This heater has 5 temperature settings, with 5 being the hottest. It heats the entire room on 2.

Please don't look at the mess kids had their own room downstairs but they decided to go upstairs cuz they don't like to be that by themselves downstairs heater working amazing keep the attic amazing all winter give it a five stars

My furnace went out and I have been getting by on electric. . . The recent cold snap brought -38. Knowing it was going to be so cold installed this heater to help. The unit is putting out a ton of heat. I have shut off my electric because on "2" it is keeping my 1800sq ft split level toasty at 75°. If I was on a single level it would be closer to 13-1400 sqft of heating. Very impressive for a supposed 30k BTU unit. Saved me from freezing to death for sure. Wish an install kit came with it. For anyone that isn't hard lining. Get a 1-1/2 inch 3/8 nipple for the regulator then you can use a standard gas appliance hook up kit from home Depot.

UPDATE: I contacted Mr. Heater and they were very helpful and responded promptly. They are sending me a new unit. Customer service is top notch.I installed this item and checked for leaks. No leaks were detected in the supply lines. Lit the heater and set the thermostat to 1 1/2 and lit the pilot light. The next day the room had a strong odor of natural gas. Upon investigation I found that the thermostat leaked when set between numbers. I contacted customer support and was told that they recommend only setting on the number (1 to 5) I set the thermostat to #1 and all seemed fine until the until cycled for heat. Again the room fill with natural gas (VERY DANGEROUS) I just found out that Amazon return was only good for 1 month. So I'm out the cost of this heater! I would not recommend anyone buys this unless you are prepared to install and use it immediately.

Lo compré en octubre 2023 y me salió en 3500 pesos. Está muy bueno. Funciona un poco diferente a otros calentadores ya que siempre prenden los 5 quemadores independientemente del número que selecciones en la perilla. Los números de la perilla es más bien para determinar a qué temperatura quieres que se apague. Si baja de esa temperatura se vuelve a prender solo. Este es de gas natural. El encendido es electrónico, una una pila que viene incluida. Si estás pensando en comprarlo, no lo dudes, no te arrepentirás.

Funciona bien, calienta muy rápido. Sin embargo llego abollado de un lado y se apaga y se queda el piloto si le pones en el 1 o el 2. De ahí en fuera toso bien.
