DS9208 Series Handsfree Standard Range Scanner Kit with Shielded USB Cable (DS9208-SR4NNU21Z), Black

Bought this on behalf of my Friends of the Library group to help with online sale of donated books. Far simpler than the instructions made me fear it might be, really it was "plug (into laptop) and play", for our uses. Scans book ISBNs fast and easily. You can use as handheld scanner or set it down and pass book barcode through its field of vision.

The failure is on the circuit board as all cables were replaced. Also note that because it's a 3D scanner it reads every QR Code placed near the UPC code. We had to place our finger over the QR Code when scanning items. Replaced with a $30 1D scanner that works faster.

With our business we have a lot of different products (up to 3,000 SKUs at once). Some of the products are very small but still come with a standard UPC. This scanner works well at getting the tiny UPCs compared to the cheaper ones. Highly recommended.

Setting up was a pain in the ass! I wanted to break this item because I wasn't able to scan my barcodes and have them populate in my inventory. It wasn't just, plug and use. I called Clover, they couldn't help. I scanned and reset the scanner at least 15 times. I tried going through the guide, and nothing. FINALLY, a customer service rep from Zebra helped me and within 5 minutes and 2 scans, I can scan items into my inventory. I will tell you how below. 1. Scan the first SET DEFAULTS picture. 2. Scan the 2nd picture ENTER KEY. Both of these barcodes are the first TWO barcodes in the quick step guide. I know? Simple? Well, if the damn instructions told me to do those two steps, I wouldn't have wasted 8 hours of my time. You are welcome. :)

Good product

I bought this product to run on a clover station, it works perfectly.

This is the fifth time I buy this item and they keep sending me either a used and defective item or an item that does not match the description and does not work.. really disappointing
