Me vs. ants. This is war.
Who likes powder all over? No one. And this is not the perfect delivery system for diatomaceous earth, but it is way better than any other I've found. It's low tech and effective. I use it under the tiles on my home. I can focus the stream of powder under the shingles. I wash off the powder that has hit the foundation, and then I use it where the foundation hits the earth. It helps. I have to use it a few times to really control the ants that I'm competing with, but it is effective. I use it in the kitchen, too. When they find their way in, I find their trail and use diatomaceous earth where they enter the kitchen. I live with as much d.e. as I think I have to for a few days, and then wipe it up. It's organic, toxin-free, safe for my dogs, and I'm winning. I'll do what it takes to keep all those things going, and this little delivery system helps me do that.UPDATE 8/2/21 I still use this thing and the d.e. still works. I have to reapply after heavy rain where the ants are ... what's the word ... most tenacious. But after the reapplication, they go away again. It's worth it to me to not have poison lying around anywhere. It's a pretty clever delivery system and it works. I think there was a little red tip on mine when I got it; it works better without it, I think. More d.e. And when I apply it, now, I poof the d.e. under my bottom shingle and let it fall to the foundation so it's actually a twofer. If enough hits the space between the shingle and the ground, a whisk broom (sometimes a wet whisk broom) does the trick.

No one likes using chemicals
No one likes using chemicals, but when I saw this apparatus, I bought it I only put in a quarter of the size worth of ant powder turned it upside down to get a very light puff to come out and I dusted my perimeter of my kitchen hallway and my bathrooms this is a great little tool if you’re concerned about putting too much Ant powder in your house

Powder Sprayer
It does a good job of putting down a barrier of diatomaceous earth against roaches. But there is a lot of powder that gets inhaled, which can cause silicosis in the lungs. So wear a tight fitting mask.

Perfect tool for my situation!
I had a yellow jacket nest in my defunct chimney by the front door. They were getting in through a tiny crack in the mortar and I hadn't been successful in getting wasp spray into the crack. After some research, and a few painful stings, I found this puffer and some powdered insecticide. I went out at night and the little tube was perfect for directing the powder into the crack. I gave it a few good puffs, then waited for the next day. I never saw any yellow jackets going in or out after that, and more importantly, spared myself getting more painful stings. As a bug lover and bee keeper, I respect our little stinging friends and this was a last resort as I had to walk past their entrance to get into my house. I like that this puffer directs the insecticide only where you need it to go, reducing any collateral insect deaths. And it kept me from being exposed to the chemicals as well. A+.

Eh. Works but
I wanted something more of a fine spray. When it splots out there's a massive amount that comes out. Even w the longer thinner piece. I'm not sure why a DE sprayer is so hard to find

Glad i bought it.
I have always taken handfuls of diatomaceous earth and wiped in on the brick outside my house to keep the tiny crazy ants from coming inside. Wind and rain would remove it. Plus I would get it all over my kitchen even when being careful. With this duster, I am able to shoot the DE directly into the tiny pinholes and cracks in the mortar between the bricks. Every day I would go back out and see what new hole they were using. I also use it inside around the windows and openings in the sheetrock under the sink where the water lines and drains go through. This has been the best year ever in regards to the any battle. I haven't had any inside because I have filled all those tiny holes and it stays dry and safe from the elements.

Piece of junk
When I used it the first time it went together. After the first time trying to get it to screw on is a chore. Tried to align the threads and it will not screw on. Tried to clean it out to see if that helped it did not. If you are using a fine power that affects the threads lining up. Not worth the hassle. Not very practical as far as I am concerned. One more try then going back.
