love this little pump
works great-does have to be in sun though. Using for small fish pond and is cutting down on algae with aeration.

i have had it for a couple of weeks already and it doesnt work most of the time. I have the solar panel in direct sunlight for about 6 hours of the day but it only works for about 2 hours if i am lucky.

Nice thought, poor design
The solar panel isn't large enough to maintain a consistent spray. You constantly have to readjust the positioning. Nice thought, poor design.

Needed more sun than we have in LA
Needs more direct sunlight than we get during a sunny so cal summer. Runs a small fraction of the day. Seems to be dead after a month or two.

So-So
There's a problem with the design of the internal electronics where it does not reliably apply power to the pump when full sun hits the solar cells. If you walk up to the panel when it stalls like this and quickly block and unblock the sun, then it applies power to the pump, but a really gradual application of sun intensity to the panels, as occurs naturally, doesn't turn it on. I have two copies of this product and both act the same way. Go figure.
