Great gas container with a couple of alterations
Great gas container. Get rid of strainer & gear under cap. Perfect container then. Highly recommended.

Once I figured out how to use it properly, it was smooth sailing
I watched an Amazon video from a reviewer on how to use this. You need to place the can into pouring position, press the tab, push down the slider, then the gas flows into the receptacle. It gasoline is transferred ~2x faster than the traditional pour spout I previously used. The patented pour spout on this does NOT leak. I had the can 90 degrees, perpendicular to the floor and it poured without spilling a drop. This is awesome. It doesn't matter if the pour spout is short (e.g., not 9-18 inches), because it doesn't leak, you can place the can on the device (in my case, a riding mower) and pour the gas into the gas reservoir when you are ready without concern gas will leak everywhere. It's fast and easy to use. It holds ~5 gallons, as no one ever fills it all the way to the extreme top. It's translucent enough that with the proper lighting you can see when the can is about to reach the fill level, e.g., when at a gas station. The shorter spout means it fits into my shelves easier in my garage. Overall, very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it.

Difficult for arthritic people
Solid build, not too keen on the spout. Requires two hands to operate, one on the spout and the other to hold the can. No way to lock the spout open so I can use both hands to support the can. There is a strainer tucked inside so if you want to use a siphon or an electric pump you’ll have to yank the strainer out.For most this is a good buy for a durable gas can. But if you’re arthritic like myself it can be difficult to use.

No drips no mess
This is the first gas can that I have owned that doesn’t leak or spill while filling my motorcycle gas tank.the nozzle mechanism works great and the dual handle makes for an easy pour. I bought the five gallon can and will purchase a smaller version for filling my mower and snow blower. This can is worth every penny.

Horrible design for a lid. Impossible to use.
Nearly impossible to use unless you are a 25 year old weight lifter with a really good back. I am a 60+ year old woman who mows her own lawn and picking up a 5 gallon container while pressing an inconvenient button that releases a difficult to push slide do-hicky that opens the container so you can pour out the contents is pretty much impossible. This is by far the worst design I have ever seen. You should have just put a simple spout on it. Less gas would have been spilled. I hate this thing and will likely buy a replacement.

Self venting actually top notch
The self venting actually works pretty darn good. Better than trying to work with a VP container or Tuffjug. Originally got this for generator use but going to pickup more for car trackdays. The combination of funnel and internal vent (with the mandated fuel arresting sock) actually works very well to clear air. I don't know why more DOT approved jugs aren't like this. Better than the Midwest container, the swivel head on this makes it easy to work with and get every drop here.
