Fantastic For Barbecues
Just to say we are absolutely made up with this electric griddle and so fantastic for a barbecue, no more smokey charcoal mess and it's quite easy to clean too. This griddle does get very hot and works really well however... read on.The only thing we have a problem with that people need to know about is that the one we got was not earthed, the large prong on the griddle connector plug shows a grounding symbol but is not connected to anything inside and there's no green/yellow wire in the mains plug and no earth/cpc contact receiver on the griddle connector the blue neutral wire inside the connector thermostat plug connects directly to the thermostat terminal which although AC power should be on the live fused side on a UK plug, the fused live brown wire is on the return power side. No earth and the polarity is the wrong way around so technically this has not been passed for UK use... also it pulls 1600 watts from the mains so plug should carry a 10 amp fuse and not a 13 amp for domestic use.The supplied mains wire is 0.75mm x 2 core so on the limit for 1600 watts and should be 1.0mm x 3 core with earth... poor show, someone is going to have an accident.We are aware that some countries like China where this was made don't have as strict electrical regulations but in the UK we do, please upgrade this appliance to make it safer thankyou.
