No…it is designed for letter-size folders.

Is the lid fully removable?

The hinge is not removable. I would not buy this product. The first file box came and the left front latch broke off immediately. Returned it to Amazon for a replacement. The replacement file box had the same problem. Didn't return it (should have!) and am living with it. Not real happy!

Does anyone have a solution for the broken latches that works for them? I tried using a paper clip to hold the latch to the container but didn't work.

Once broken, they are pretty much done for.
