good information
I really like all of the helpful photos in this book. Overall it gave me a better insight into what all it might take to begin doing raised bed gardening. The writing style flows well. There are plenty of different options given for styles that might work for many different gardening needs. It definitely makes the reader aware of how much planning will need to go into this process. I also appreciate the section on making your own soil, although that also makes this endeavor feel rather daunting. Good building guides for DIY beds.

"The First-Time Gardener: Raised Bed Gardening: All the know-how you need to build and grow a raised bed garden (Volume 3) (The First-Time Gardener's Guides, 3)" by Calikim is a great addition to the The First-Time Gardener's Guides series. The information is presented in an way that is easy to understand. Definitely good for us beginner gardeners. It doesn't skimp on the color photos. The instructions for the projects are clear and concise. It was well worth the read as it provided some very good tips and ideas to put into practice.

Has a lot of interesting information for a newbie like myself
This is my first year trying to do a garden. I got a 4x8 raised bed and some growing bags. I also got some soil in a bag to add to them. I started before getting this book, going by a general book and web searches. I've compared it to the contents of similar books and I think it's good in some regards and lacking in others, from what I can tell. Two things others have dived deeper on that this doesn't is specifics for each plant, as some have a spread that gives more details on each including what they grow good with, and this also just briefly touches on the concept that you can compost but doesn't tell you how at all. I like that other books have more details about these things as a beginner it would be great to get an all-in-one book. But this does have a lot of interesting information. I like how the author covers some plants that you can grow in batches throughout the season. I also like how she gives plans for making a raised bed, trellises, and such, although I won't be using those. She does clump some plants into categories and goes into some details about them, like cold weather plants, warm weather plants, kid-friendly plants, etc. It's not complete enough to get 5 stars from me, but I think it will be helpful on my gardening journey.
