Karman Healthcare 802-DY 30 lbs Ultra Lightweight Wheelchair with Removable Footrest in Black, 18" x 16" Seat

We bought this chair for travel... it is not light, but at 30 lbs it is definitely lighter than a standard wheelchair. I, the caregiver, can get it in/out of the car quite easily. Being lighter it does not take the bumps as well, so I have to watch out and go backwards more often. The seat is a standard 18 x 16 inch size but I think it is a bit more tight overall, even though our standard wheelchair measures the same. This chair is a bit less wide overall, which is a plus. My 225 lb husband is able to use this chair, but I think it is not as comfortable for him for longer periods of sitting as our standard heavy chair. One design flaw: you cannot put the pedals flat back against the wheels and put the brakes on at the same time, so there are situations where we have to remove the pedals, which is annoying. Also the foot pedals adjust height with a wrench, vs the more typical pins. While this makes them adjustable to any length, vs preset lengths, it is harder to do the adjustments.

Works well, but hard to manuver on carpet.

The wheelchair is much lighter weight than others we have had. This adds to the ease of taking it in and out of our SUV.The chair is very comfortable (even without a seat pad) and rolls very easily.Comes fully assembled, you only have to simply add the included foot rests.Looks like the much more expensive chairs available.Note: although I’m sure the chair could handle a 250 lb person, I would recommend it for someone less than 200 lb due to chair size and rigidity.

Once again, this the wheelchair number 4 that is to small, the seat is just 16 inches wide and we need a seat that is 18inches wide.
