Bapmic L/R Steering Rack Boot Cover Kit Replacement for BMW E46 323 325 328 330 E85 Z4 (Pack of 2) 32131096910

The boot kit comes with everything needed to replace my BMW E46's worn out rack and pinion bellows. The rubber grommets with the slit design do not require the outer ball joints to be separated from the inner ball joints, a time and money saver. I used a dab of the included grease to freshen up the ball joints where the inner tie rod connects to the steering rack. I used my PEX crimper on the pinch clamps with ease.

You don't have to take off your tie rod ends, these slide right over them. Not sure about longevity, hopefully, they will last a couple of years.

They fit the 2004 BMW e46 330ci perfectly.

It would be nice if instructions were included. Where does the lubricant go? I assume in the boot at the joint, but I hate making assumptions. This was about half the price of Autozone with better materials (Autozone's had zip ties which I suppose are just fine, but no lubricant).

Easy install. Luckily there was no rust on rocker treads or bolt. Fit perfect on my 2007 BMW Z4. Only thing I didn’t like were the clamps. Couldn’t get them to work. Suggest using hose clamp with adjustable screw. Didn’t have the right size so I used zip ties.

The inner diameter on the rack side of the Tie Rod Boot was too large to be effective with the steering rack on my 2002 BMW 330XI. This is very disappointing since the amazon market place tool indicated it would work with my vehicle. Although I chose to purchase the solution based on a significant price advantage It cost me more than an hour of my time to work around the poorly sized boot, resulting in an expense that far exceeded the expected savings.
