These appear just slightly lighter duty than Simpson Strongtie. But at 30% the per unit cost, you can't go wrong. They're strong and well manufactured. They worked great for my application.

Plan your budget. The bracket is pretty good if you have support or in a corner. Its thinner metal but it holds ok if your not going to high or lots of weight forcing it back and forth . I used one piece at the end of the kennel free stanging against my stucco wall only holding the lach side and the weight of my dogs leaning on the gate bent the metal enough for the 4x4 to lean a little and render the latch unless. The hard ware sucks so dont wast your time with it cause it will cost you more time and headaches having to redrill, tap, and attempt to bolt down the bracket. The stupid bolt bend easily when hammering them down. And the housing is so thin that its hard for the bolt to lock in the hole. Just buy better anchor bolts.

Great for my redo of my 40 year old deck. Very sturdy and 4X4 post fit snug. These are $30 plus at box stores

I've got 12 of these for an exterior deck in the pacific northwest. They look GREAT but the supplied expansion bolts are not ideal for mounting into wood. They do the job, but there is a bit of wobble (I doubt it would pass inspection). The bolts are also a bit cheap; the sheathes will break if you don't have everything lined up perfectly. I asked how I can buy some replacement bolts but have yet to hear back. Overall, these are aesthetically great, but I recommend supplying your own fasteners, especially if you're mounting to wood.
