Great laptop backpack/case.
The media could not be loaded. I ordered this for my IRL outdoor streams as I carry quite a bit of tech and the ease of access from the top and side makes life much easier managing my gear on the go.It’s a great multi use backpack that is relatively understated in its design with a single HH logo on the strap. For me, it’s perfect as I’m not a fan of unnecessary branding being plastered all over products and Helly Hansen have it just right with this bag as it’s discreet looks make it suitable for office professionals and students alike. The side access and carrying strap handle makes it look quite formal and makes for easy carrying while commuting etc where it’s not always practical to carry over the shoulders as a backpack. The roll top is equally useful and allows for a great deal of versatility in what can be carried as the bag has a large volume and the roll top gives that bit more space if needed.Securely keeps laptops and tech safe and dry and there is plenty of space for paperwork and books if needed. I can fit my MacBook, large 70000ah power bank and a multitude of cables and camera gear for my streams with ease. It’s so well made it copes with the weight without strain or difficulty and I find it to be a great addition to my kit.In summary, it’s a great bit of kit from a knowledgeable big brand that knows exactly what they’re doing and I’d happily recommend to anyone as I thoroughly enjoy using it myself.

Well made but the poor roll top kills it
The roll top, as other reviews show, is really poor at this price point and reduces the otherwise great build and waterproof qualities. They could have at least fixed a few pieces of Velcro to the opening to try and keep it shut.Otherwise this is would be a decent made bag, which is what you'd expect at this price.

A great travelling companion
I've just come back with a weekend away with the Helly Hansen Backpack and I am seriously impressed. I left home with it quite full then had to put some more unplanned stuff in it so really put it through its paces.First of all, it's a backpack cum duffel bag, it's very long and you can extend the end but you can also put it over your back. Because it's so long you can really get a lot into it and it makes it quite easy to put the heavy stuff at the bottom and therefore distribute the weight to make it comfortable to carry a heavy load. What I most like is that you can open the side and squeeze more stuff in, or get something out halfway down the rucksack. That's soooo good when it's full and you don't want to get everything out just to get something deep down in the bag. I also like all the openings and little pockets around the side. You can squeeze a serious lot of kit in this. There is a sleeve inside the bag which I used for the laptop which is easy to get it out from and also keeps it well protected. A tablet or paperback book can squeeze in the outside pocket, which makes it ideal on the train, or you could put a water bottle there.Like I say I had the bag really full and the zip and stitching really held up and I had to extend the top to its full length. I probably overfilled it to be honest but it was strong enough to cope.As it's so slim it can easily slide on the overhead luggage rack of the train, or you can squeeze it under a table and sit behind it.This is definitely the bag I'll be reaching first for when I go away again.

A lot more spacious than the side view implies
The media could not be loaded. There’s a dedicated padded slot for a laptop, which can be placed in by opening the roll top or conveniently slid in through the side zip. There’s a side handle, the side pocket is stretchy and easily fits a 500ml bottle or even a travel mug. The front pocket fits a Samsung galaxy tab A7, which has a 10.4” display. Each shoulder strap has 4 bits of fabric which enables you to change the height of the buckle that connects across the chest, which is a really handy option to have. When the bag is empty is looks quite slim, but a thick parka jacket including the hood fits with room to spare. The top of the bag is a roll top, like a dry bag. Unlike dry bags, it’s not waterproof as claimed in the product information, if you fully submerge in water it will let it all in because of the side zip and the roll top doesn’t clamp to itself enough, showerproof yes.
