These are good quality
If you are picky like me, you are likely looking at these not because they stand out from any other similar ones, but because they come in WHITE! For some reason, they do not seem to make 4x4 post anchors in a set in white; except for these. I mean, most of the posts are white - why would the anchors all come in black???These were not the style I wanted. These things come in many styles, bolt arrangements, et… However, I figured I would make them work, as the thought of buying black ones, stripping the powder coating, & repainting them with a less durable coating sounded like a huge headache. When I looked at the photos of these, for some reason they looked sorta flimsy to me. They are not. They may be a gauge of steel less than the ones you get at literally 5x+ the price at The Depot, but they are still very strong & sturdy. I may not build my house with them, but I would use them for almost anything else with confidence.I bought them to reinforce the mounting of an aluminum pergola that I purchased. I was not confident in the post mounts it came with (not of this style). The idea was to get the split / clam shell versions of these anchors & use those over top of original points. But again not available in white anywhere!First you get all the hardware for these for concrete or wood in the package. Again, looks wimpy to me in the photos, but when you receive it they are beefy. I’m mounting in wood base. If you are doing that you will want to take the washers off the concrete expansion bolts & use them on the lag bolts, as the holes are to big to trust without washers & they will hold the bolts & clamp down better. Many of these in this price range don’t even come with hardware, these come with hardware of very good quality. Honestly, I’m guessing if you went to The Depot & just bought this hardware you’d be close to paying what this whole set of everything here costs. You also get black screws to secure your post itself in the anchor. I’m not using these but they look good. These are powder coated, not painted, and it’s of good quality. I know this because I sliced them up, they got very hot, and the coating held up. Paint would not have near the cutting points. The steel is also of good quality. If you try to press them with your bare hands, you will find no flex or give in these anchors. What wasn’t clear to me is the bottoms of the anchors have “ears”, that prevent your post from going below the anchor. This was a hinderance for me, but a good feature if you are using these as designed. When I split these mounts in half, I also cut the ears off. So what you are looking at in my photos is my modified 2 piece version of these anchorsIf your mounting these in quality wood, your will want to drill a pilot hole for the lag bolts. I think 3/8” drill bit is recommended, but I found 5/16” works well if your are driving them in with an impact gun. They will bolt in very tight.

Excellent Value Great Quality
These anchors are $27 each at big box and then you still have to purchase the bolts and screws. The quality is exactly the same.

Much Cheaper Alternative to Name Brand Anchor Bases
Pros:This was a much cheaper alternative to the more expensive name brand option out there. It also comes with the hardware, which saves some additional money and makes it easier overall. I used these to hold up some 4x4's on my pool's equipment pad to hold up a wood panel for mounting some equipment. They've withstood a decent amount of force and have held up well so far.The installation was also easier than expected.Cons:N/A

Worth the effort!!
I bought these to install a wooden fence with a gate on a concrete carport. Absolutely genius products!! They look fantastic and are extremely sturdy for 4x4s!! I have been using them for well over six months and have had zero issues with the gate or fence integrity. The only part that I had difficulty with was drilling the holes into the concrete (which is unrelated to the product itself) BUT they came with several types of hardware to install them in concrete or wood.

Strong
Great product. I used 2 for a free standing handrail on outside stairs. They are tall enough to support the vertical posts and heavy duty enough that I don't have to worry about them bending. Hardware is adequate although I opted for lags to anchor the 4x4. 5 stars all the way.
