Good mask
Wouldn't necessarily say they are the same as mares as there are a few differences aside from the lense and mask design. Though at my local dive shop they sell a mask that is the same exact mask as this with a anti glare coating for $90. I haven't used these much aside from a little in the river a scalloping in 9ft. When I go spearfishing I'll update. But in what I used so far it's pretty good. Good fit with nice field of view, press the mask in your face after getting in the water and the lense will be pretty close. Water doesn't like getting out on the bottom of the lense as there is a small pocket, it doesn't make much of a difference. Only complaint I can think of is that when I pinch my nose or hit the bottom with the snorkel water will get in the nose. Makes sense as there isn't a double seal on the bottom, keep in mind the same thing would be present with the mares star or whatever mask I seen for $90 near me. I didn't have a issue clearing underwater. Overall it's a pretty good mask especially for the value. Update: after scuba diving and freediving around 40 ft, the mask functioned good. didn't notice any leaks, though the issue with water sitting on the bottom of the lense persists. and can be annoying. you could have it dry on land and go in but eventually you'll readjust it or take it off and get water stuck in it.

Fantastic Mask
I bought this as a backup to my main mask, and was drawn to this due to it's low-volume design and low price. After using it a bunch of times, I absolutely love this one. The silicone skirt is super comfortable, and the adjustable strap is pretty stretchy, which is good for me (I'm a long-haired dude, and the stretchy strap doesn't pull on my hair while putting it on, or while putting a hood over it). The field of vision is also great, and I tend to use this as my primary mask when at wreck sites with swimthroughs (helps me to not bump into overheads, since the field of vision is better than my other mask). Hope this is helpful for you.

Best bang for your buck
This is the best bang for your buck when it comes to low volume, freediving/spearfishing masks. I have 3 different masks and this is one of them, one of my favorites. I've recommended this mask to 3 or 4 friends and I haven't heard any complaints so far. This is a quality mask and it is suprising considering it's price ($15.99). I also appreciate how this mask has remained at the same price for quite some time considering how good and affordable it is. If I were ever in charge of supplying a dive center with quality freediving masks I would very likely go with this one.

Low volume, fits face
Works as intended I'm an adult male and it fits my face fine. I wanted a mask that was low volume. My wife says I look like Batman in it. I took off 1 star because I can see where there is some glue between the rubber and glass on the outside, which makes me think it won't last too long. We will see.

Great fit!
I’m used to a panoramic view single lens mask. That’s what I’ve used for all of my first 90 dives. Got away from 2 lens because of the pinch. This mask didn’t pinch or feel off at all. I didn’t even toothpaste them and yet they stayed dog free. Easy to pinch nose. All around awesome value for the money. I don’t know anything about it’s counterpart but this mask rocks!!

Love this mask
I’ve not used that many dove masks, this is my third. But it’s been the most comfortable. Low volume, so you don’t get pressure on your face when diving down. I’ve used this mask on a few dozen dives by now and have had no issues , as long as I remember to shave the top of my lip where the mask sits, I have no issue with water getting in.I burnt the inside of the lenses to prevent fogging, and I use baby shampoo and water mixture to spray in the mask before I go diving. It goes hours without fogging. The o Lu time I’ve had issues is when I took of my mask multiple times and let water come in. What happens is the heat from you face causes the water inside to start forming condensation. So keep that in mine. Keep you mask on unless you absolutely have to take it off.I’ll be buying another one of these masksTo have on standby as a spare just in case I lose this one or it gets damaged in any way.

NOT low volume
I actually already had this exact same mask before I bought it. It's kind of a generic design that you can find under different "brands". One that is sold here in Hawaii is under a brand called "poi pounders," a lower end brand that sells gear at like walmart. The mask works great for me, I freedive and spearfish. I've tried alot of other masks and none fit my face like this one. BUT, it's just a normal volume mask. I ordered this one because it said low volume and in the photo looked more like a low volume mask compared to the one I originally had, the skirt in the photo looked smaller. So I ordered this one since i already know the design works for my face, but when it came I found out its the exact same volume as the one I already had. Maybe its lower volume that some of the reallly clunky masks out there, but IMO, it by no means is a low volume mask. If you go to a dive shop and try on low volume masks, they sit completely different on your face and you can tell they are quite a bit smaller and are lower volume. This sits very far away from your face and is not ideal for deep free diving. 3 stars because its a good mask for the price, don't get me wrong, it's just not low volume.
