This is so much better than a heat lamp.
It does get very hot to the touch that is the only worry that I have but it is so much safer than a heat lamp and keeps my girls very warm. Great for chicks that aren't quite ready to be in with the older girls yet.

Switch on at the cord.... heater works... even when stomped by goats!
I thought at first it didn't work because I left the cord twist-tied and just plugged it in and it "didn't heat", then I realized after waiting for hours (I got distracted) that the flip switch is on the cord not the heat alert on the screen. Silly me! I was apprehensive about it working because goats got to the packaging, tore it open, strolled across it and left scratch marks on one corner, and tossed the stands about four feet away from the screen... I went back to my order to see if the stands were supposed to be in the torn box after I brought it inside and found no stands. Stands WERE included and still work now that I did a quick search and found the stands in the grass some four to six feet from the torn box and screen. Was easy to put together and is clearly durable since the goats stomped and scratched a corner but it still works and was not cracked. I just wiped the scratch away with a damp cloth and double checked for cracks. Works great. Only I think I would suggest getting the one with an auto on and off you plan to put it outside as I do so you don't have to keep going to flip the switch. Is great for inside, under desk, and anywhere you will be on hand to flip it on and off and yes, it works very well. Got it for my dog kennel and hoping it is less a fire hazard than some heaters and I will hang it on the wall/door so it doesn't take up floor space. Overall pleased and it is definitely durable and still working despite the goat dismantling the mailed box.

Would work for a very small coop
I tried using it for a dog house 40x80inch, ig it was a big ask, didn't make a difference really and gets very hot to the touch. It has not protection for the wire and zero thermostat just a switch to turn it off and on. would work for a small well insulated coop

Stopped working within 10days
It seemed great, but stopped working within 10 days. It didn't get wet. It was plugged in. It was turned on & off but no response. Not sure why it won't turn on.Easy to install. Chickens liked it. Not too big or small. Warm but not too hot.

Perfect heater!
I bought this heater to keep outside cats warm. It worked perfectly! I was so grateful I found it before the arctic temperatures we had last week. The cats have insulated boxes on the carport. With setting this little heater in the area and enclosing, they stayed warm and comfortable. I’m so glad I purchased. Quick and easy to set up and put out a perfect amt of heat with no fan noise to scare them.

Very nice and easy to install
I use this on the inside of our Prebuilt and it works great. Our chicks were old enough to go outside, but it was still a little chilly and I wanted to make sure they had some warmth for a while and the coop is not big enough red light due to fire fears. So far this has been fantastic with no issues. In the picture, the cord mounted on the door controls the on off for the heater. I then made a hole and ran it into the coop.

Works
I have a standard chicken coop with 8 chickens. You can see the size of my coop in the photo attached. If it’s 30ish degrees out it will definitely heat the coop to 50-55. Once it gets down to below freezing temps it can’t get to the 50s. It got down to 15° and it heated the coop to 35 so I guess that’s not bad. Temps here are not consistently below freezing so it works great for my needs. It’s definitely not tip proof in a coop it’s easy for the chickens to knock over unless you anchor it. I just got a couple of screws and attached it to the door.

Very hot heater.
WE thought we were buying a brooder heater, but this is a chicken coop heater. It gets pretty hot. May have cause a few baby chicks to die. But then we discovered that it is a heater. It gets up to 180f. on the side. And the baby chicks were huddled up against it then moved away and a few didn't move away soon enough. It was sold with brooders, we were looking up on Amazon for brooders and found this thinking it was a brooder. But we discovered it is a heater for coops and big chickens.

Stopped working after only 3 weeks of use and seller refused to send replacement
I purchased in May to use this winter in my chicken coop. It arrived in a few weeks and I set it up in the coop to use in November of 2022. It worked ok for 3 weeks, then stopped working. I contacted the seller and they said that they were not responsible for the items they sell because Amazon ships them from their warehouse. They were not interested in either refunding my money nor sending me a replacement. Don't waste your money on a company that doesn't care if their products work or not. I made an effort to call them first before leaving a review. I know items like these are not meant to last a long time, but I would have expected at least one season of use. I then had to quickly buy a replacement panel before the next cold snap.... luckily our weather warmed up or the result of the failure would have been frostbitten chickens.
