What a stunningly beautiful piece. I wanted an analog timer as opposed to a date viral one, and this is a beauty. The size is perfect for it to be a centrepiece on your desk or table, and the sand is quite hypnotic as it filters down gently. Customer service is incredible also, Patricia fixed a minor issue immediately with perfect communication. Highly recommend.

This sand timer is larger than your average one, It also differs from normal ones as it has no wooden frame around it to protect and support the glass. This makes it delicate and easily damaged. You may feel you have to handle it with kid gloves. Due to these design issues and the overall high cost of the item I don't feel I can recommend it over a smaller and more robust hourglass, which would do exactly the same job. Sure it looks impressive, it is just impractical to use . If you do decide to buy it, cross your fingers and hope it gets to you in one piece.

Mindfulness is a big thing at the moment and is a good way to centre yourself, take time out and be calm, away from the seemingly 24/7 barrage of daily life. This focus timer aims to create space in your day to relax and recharge away from the hustle and bustle of modern life and the technology that comes along with it. The focus timer is beautifully made from glass, smooth and sensuous to the touch and mindfully packaged. Just handling the glass, turning over the timer, and seeing the smooth flow of the sand is relaxing in itself, and could be used alongside meditation and breathing and mindfulness exercises. I really like the idea of turning off technology and distractions and focussing on yourself for half an hour as the sand slowly, elegantly and inexorably flows through. At nearly £48 at the point of review, this may seem expensive, but it’s beautifully made elegant to look at and quite a talking point for visitors. O think this also makes a lovely present, which anyone who partakes of meditation and mindfulness will really appreciate. Five stars from me.

Nein man muss keinen Alarm setzen und Orientierung in der Zeit zu bekommen. Man muß auch nicht ständig auf die "Uhr" schielen, um zu wissen wie spät es ist. Diese Sanduhr verbinden Effizienz mit Müßiggang. Soll heißen, man kann entspannt in ungefähren Zeitabschnitten werkeln, oder aber man faulenzt ein wenig, aber eben nicht zu lange. Und nichts schrillt!

I love that I can set this within view and time my yoga by half hour increments. It is beautiful and I get lots of interest in it, but what is important is that it is serene and functional. I timed it. It is a half hour.

While it’s a ‘fun’ item, it’s useless because the sand gets stuck. As a timer it doesnt work- at all!
