Plug out / disconnect before connecting to shore power.
We bought a camper with this inverter already installed. It worked fine, and could heat water for shower, boil a kettle etc. Unfortunately, we did not have a user manual, and connected into 240v shore power and the inverter got damaged and no longer works. We bought a replacement, and in the manual one of the first warnings is to disconnect the inverter if connecting to shore power. Expensive mistake, but won't make this mistake a second time. But otherwise the iverter seems to work very well

Know your rights before you buy off this seller, faulty item, asked to take apart to find fault, wouldn't pay for return postage, had to go through amazon.Item broke after 3 months after developing a fault, should of been a smooth retutn/replacement but this sellers customer service skills need working on!
