Powerful, Long-Lasting DEWALT FLEXVOLT Batteries for Heavy-Duty Tools
I recently purchased the DEWALT FLEXVOLT 20V/60V MAX 9.0-Ah Batteries (DCB609-2) and have been thoroughly impressed with their performance. This two-pack set is a game-changer for anyone using DEWALT’s 20V, 60V, or even 120V MAX tools. #### Performance and Versatility These batteries feature innovative dual-voltage technology, automatically switching between 20V and 60V, depending on the tool. This makes them incredibly versatile, compatible with a wide range of DEWALT tools. In 20V tools, they offer up to **6 times the runtime** compared to standard 1.5 Ah batteries, making them perfect for extended projects without frequent recharges:citation[oaicite:8]{index=8}:citation[oaicite:7]{index=7}. #### Power and Runtime Each battery has a substantial **9.0-Ah capacity**, providing ample power for high-demand tools. I used these with my cordless circular saw and was able to tackle tough, high-load applications without any hiccups. The runtime is impressive; during a recent project involving extensive cutting, a single charge lasted all day, which significantly boosted my productivity:citation[oaicite:6]{index=6}:citation[oaicite:5]{index=5}. #### Design and Features These batteries come with an LED state-of-charge indicator, allowing me to quickly check the battery levels at a glance. This feature helps avoid unexpected interruptions during work, ensuring I can plan recharges during natural breaks in my projects:citation[oaicite:4]{index=4}. The batteries also run cooler compared to similar high-capacity models from competitors, reducing the risk of overheating during intense tasks:citation[oaicite:3]{index=3}. #### Durability and Warranty The build quality is robust, typical of DEWALT’s standards. They feel solid and well-made, capable of withstanding the rigors of a busy job site. Additionally, the batteries are covered by a **3-year limited warranty**, along with a 1-year free service agreement and a 90-day satisfaction guarantee, giving me peace of mind regarding my investment:citation[oaicite:2]{index=2}:citation[oaicite:1]{index=1}. #### Compatibility The batteries are compatible with all DEWALT chargers that support 20V/60V, making them easy to integrate into my existing setup. I use the DCB107 charger, and it works perfectly with these batteries, ensuring quick and efficient charging:citation[oaicite:0]{index=0}. #### Final Thoughts Overall, the DEWALT FLEXVOLT 20V/60V MAX 9.0-Ah Batteries (DCB609-2) are a fantastic addition to any DEWALT toolset. They offer outstanding power, flexibility, and reliability, ideal for both DIY enthusiasts and professional contractors. Whether you're cutting through thick lumber or powering up a heavy-duty leaf blower, these batteries will not disappoint. Highly recommended for those who demand the best from their cordless tools.

Batteries Die
I bought a pair for almost another $300 after buying the full sized compound miter saw in February 2019. I have had these and took great care with them, keeping them out of the cold, keeping them charged, and using them only for the tools that would require them if for nothing else than the weight. One of them just stopped holding a charge about 9 months ago, and I was going to bring it in to get repaired (hopefully), then I just put in the 2nd battery today and it wont hold a charge either. For $300, just for 2 batteries, that is pathetic. I tried calling their customer service a few weeks ago and the rep couldn't understand the words I was saying, even when I spelled it out slowly, and got frustrated and ended the call. They may replace the batteries, I don't know yet and will update, but for so expensive a product, I shouldn't have to get it replaced so soon. I am really questioning if it was a good idea to go with their line of tools. I am a contractor and have spent thousands of dollars on their brand. Maybe that was a mistake. I will try to see what they will do and will update accordingly.

Ridiculously expensive but peace of mind when needing one
I bought the Dewalt brand batteries after trying cheaper knock offs. I had problems charging the knock-off and found they weren't backwards compatible with my 20v tools. The cheap ones only worked on 60V tools. These work on 20v and 60v, charge perfectly and last fairly well on my 60v Dewalt saw. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet so you can work without problems. This was one of those times. Hopefully they last for many years like the other Dewalt batteries I own have.

These batteries fit and work into all my 60 volt tools as well as my 20 volt ones. The batteries are rated at 9AH for 20 volts and 3AH for 60 volts. When installed in my 20 volt leaf blower, the blower sounds like it is running better compared to my 20 volt 5AH battery. When it comes to run time, these batteries are king but they do make the tool heavier. I tested the runtime of these batteries and I decided to use my 20 volt leaf blower on high as that would be very good for consistency. With fully charged batteries, my blower ran for 20 minutes. I did the test twice with both batteries to ensure my accuracy. So with both batteries, I can get 40 minutes of high speed with my leaf blower. If I place the depleted battery onto a 6 amp charger while the other battery runs the blower, the charging battery will give me another 5 minutes after a 20 minute charge. So in total, I can get 45 minutes before both batteries are out. One important thing to note is neither battery was hot after running the leaf blower for 20 minutes so charging occurred right away. For those interested, my OEM 4AH battery ran the leaf blower for 9 minutes and my OEM 5AH was a tad longer at 10 minutes and both of these were too hot to charge afterward. I tested how long these batteries require to be charged from fully depleted to solid lights on the charger. They required 2 hours and 22 minutes on the 4 amp charger and 1 hour and 41 minutes with the 6 amp charger. The 6 amp charger has two stage charging. Both batteries have the fuel gauge which is super handy to know what is in the tank before I start the task. These batteries also came with transport covers which I leave on my batteries to keep the dust and debris out of the contacts. Each battery has a QR code and when scanned, it is a quick way for me to register the batteries for my 3 year warranty. When I checked the DeWalt website later, the batteries were not registered so you may want to confirm as I did. These batteries are not light and weigh in at 1.45 kg or 3.2 lb without the red transport cover. They can make a smaller tool awkward due to the weight and/or the balance point. Heavier or not, these DCB609 batteries are my preferred batteries for my 20 volt leaf blower and do a super job driving my 60 volt tools.

I originally bought these batteries because I had to. (60v Sawzall.) I also have several other 20v tools from DeWalt that are power hungry. These batteries sate them and run them at full power and potential for hours. 9AH at 60v should translate to 27AH at 20v. There is a controversy as to how much you actually get but it is probably close. I have no idea as I have never been able to drain the battery, it always lasts longer than I do! I was doing some major destruction on an old structure heavily using my sawzall and three hours in I figured I should check my battery power. The indicator still gave me two green lights and my first thought was "When did I change the Battery? I have no recollection doing that!" The bigger batteries fit all the 20v tools I have but are cumbersome on some. They are very heavy and actually outweigh some of my smaller tools. Others, like my roof nailer, actually benefit from the extra balancing weight and power. I only have the standard 20v charger for these batteries and I find it absolutely adequate. I have a personal animosity to the 'Quick-Chargers' as I have used one before on a different brand of battery and it made the battery too hot to hold. I am pretty sure that is not a good thing. I have also seen the new 15AH 60v FlexVolt which is the same size as these batteries. Physics is a jealous mistress and I do not see how they can do it without a major compromise to life or reliability. You can buy two of these batteries for the price of one 15AH.
