Amazing and top notch find
I previously had a different brand of the same type of water hose with an automatic reel. It lasted one season of hard winter here in the upper Michigan area. And yes, I left it out. When the spring came even though there wasn’t any water in it? Most of the unit cracked, the hose was in good shape, but the unit itself, and it was one of those with no replaceable parts. After doing some research, this brand came up and since I had bought nozzles and spray heads from this brand, I trusted it. I’m glad I was able to get this one because what I can tell you is there are no negatives in my case. One of the best things I bought from my house.I have this mounted on a Fitz post that is concreted in the ground a little over 2 feet and is about 4 feet above ground. So I used a 6 foot pole and I have it mounted and bolted to it. It does swing back-and-forth and I’ve got it in a great location.I chose this model for one reason and that is because of the length and the size. I needed something to go from my house out to my garage, which is at the hundred feet if not a few more than that. And this goes out there and then some.It seems pretty heavy duty. And no I will not leave this out in the winter. But we have used this brand this summer and spring then we use the other brand and I will tell you it held up really well. In fact, I can’t find any issues with it whatsoever.

I LOVE this hose. Wish I had 2.
LONG STORY SHORT:I absolutely LOVE this hose. I tried to talk myself out of getting such an expensive hose. Did I really NEED a retractable hose? Couldn't I just get a $50 100 foot hose from the hardware store? No. I needed this hose.PROS:-Easy as heck to use. There's a mechanism on the inside that moves back and forth as you're retracting it, so that it coils nicely on the inside...not bunching up on one side or the other.-Good construction. Feels super solid, like it's going to last a long time.-Makes everything look clean and tidy.***The hose stands up to HIGH pressure, this faucet is tied into our house BEFORE the pressure valve, so the pressure on this hose is straight from the street....it's like a firehose. I bought a "heavy duty" 100 foot hose from a hardware store that has burst SEVERAL times (I've continued to fix it). This hose has withstood that pressure even overnight...when I forgot to turn it off at the faucet.***CONS:I wish they had a larger hose option like a 3/4". The 5/8 is great, but doesn't allow for the max capacity that I COULD be getting given that my hose has insane, fire hose like pressure. With a 3/4" option I'm confident that I could wash the neighbor's roof from my driveway. Oh well. Probably overkill ;)CONCLUSION:LOVE the hose. Will likely buy one for the backyard as well in the near future (although the 90ft length gets me almost everywhere I need on either side of the house)

Reliable, Space-Saving Hose Reel with a Few Durability Concerns
### OverviewThe Giraffe Tools AW505/8 Retractable Garden Hose Reel offers convenience and ease of use, featuring a 5/8" diameter hose extending up to 115 feet. It is ideal for small to medium-sized gardens, providing a durable design with automatic rewind, a 180-degree swivel bracket for full coverage, and slow retraction to avoid hose damage.### Key Features- **Hose Length**: Comes with a 115 ft hybrid hose plus a 5 ft lead-in hose, which is kink-resistant and handles regular garden tasks.- **Automatic Rewind**: The reel rewinds the hose smoothly with a stable auto-rewind system. It retracts at a controlled pace to prevent accidents.- **Swivel Bracket**: With 180-degree swivel movement, this reel ensures you can cover all areas of your garden.- **Durability**: It is constructed with high-quality polypropylene material and designed to mount securely to a wall.### PerformanceMost users appreciate the ease of use and no-kink design, making watering simpler and hassle-free. It has a sturdy design, and the retracting mechanism works well for the first few months.### Durability ConcernsSome users have reported that after a few months of use, the retracting mechanism may stop functioning properly. Issues like the hose no longer retracting fully or losing spring tension have been raised, which may require warranty claims. This can be frustrating, especially considering the price point.### InstallationThe hose reel is relatively easy to install, with clear instructions included. It requires a few screws to secure the bracket to the wall, and the hose attaches easily. Users typically find the installation process straightforward.### ConclusionThe Giraffe Tools AW505/8 is an excellent option if you're seeking a reliable, retractable hose reel that keeps your garden organized. However, be prepared for potential durability issues with the retraction mechanism over time. The 2-year limited warranty offers some peace of mind if any problems arise.

Life changing!
When I say I research products before I buy, that’s a huge understatement! I looked everywhere at everything single hose reel offered before settling on this one. I can say my diligence paid off and the best choice was made! Saves a great deal of time when watering the lawn and so convenient. No more dragging around the hose. Such an organized and clean look when not in use. The only complaint I have if there is one is the hose itself. Par for the course being a 5/8 hose. It’s easy to move around being a 5/8 hose, but does kink if your stretched across the yard and make a twist or turn. I can stretch the hose all the way out and it is strong enough to retract! DO NOT LET GONIF THE HOSE!!!! It will reel in quick.BUY THE 5/8 HOSE, NOT THE 1/2”. Wish they made it in a thicker hose even. I expect this reel to last for years! Quality is top notch and even though the mount is plastic it is of great quality and holds the reel secure. No wobbling or play. Simple to instal and easy to store away for the winter.I 100% recommend this product.

Heavy unit requires secure mounting
Note: In my review below, I originally referred to the photos in the order I uploaded them (1, 2, 3, &4) but it turns out that Amazon simply displayed them in random order, so I've edited the review to simply refer to "the photo" and you'll have to use your detective skills to figure out which one I'm referring to. ;-)I've been looking for a good quality retractable hose for quite a while. After researching the options I chose the Giraffe Tools Hose Reel. I purchased the 5/8 inch hose (same as my other hoses) with a 90 foot length, which was longer than I needed but decided to get more rather than risk being a bit short on length. The first challenge I encountered was where to mount it. The instructions were clear that it must be mounted on a very sturdy structure or large post, so I planned to attach it to my deck. Unfortunately, the bracket was too long and I couldn’t mount it without cutting in the the vinyl decking that curved around the edge of the deck, which I didn’t want to do, so my next thought was to mount it on the wall. The photos show it mounted on an exterior wall so I thought I’d try that, however, behind my vinyl siding is only plywood and that wasn’t strong enough to hold the retraction unit as it weighs 29 lbs. and would have pulled the bracket right off the wall. So then I decided to mount a 4 foot long 2 X 6 directly to the wall, using a dozen 3” deck screws (see photo). I used a 4 foot length so that it would rest on the ground, helping to hold the weight of the unit while providing enough height to mount it the recommended 31 inches above ground. As you can see from the photo, this is because of the length of hose that hangs down from the unit when the hose if fully retracted. The next challenge was the way that the input hose attaches to the side of the unit. In the photo you can see how it’s not possible to move the unit fully to the left without hitting the wall with the hose that sticks out of the side. Not only does this prevent moving it fully to the left, but I expect over time, that hose will begin to leak due to the repeated bumping into the wall. To fix this, I purchased a 90 degree elbow joint from Home Depot. They only had 3/4” size (not 5/8") but the threads were the same and it fit perfectly (see photo). Now, with the elbow in place, I can move the unit all the way to the left without hitting the wall at all (see photo). Mounting the unit on a 2 x 6 also helped with this as it gave a bit more clearance.Using the reel is straight forward but here I encountered a couple of other things I didn’t know before buying the unit. I had assumed that I could simply leave the tap turned on and conveniently pull the hose out when I needed it and then retract it again when done. That’s not quite how it works. You first turn the tap on before you use the unit and then you can pull the hose out. It’s a bit of a heavy pull, which is fine but took more effort than I expected. When you’re done you don’t simply retract the hose, first you need to walk back to the unit and turn the tap off, then relieve the pressure in the hose by opening the spray nozzle. At that point you can give the hose a small pull and slowly walk it back into the unit. There are no bristles in the retraction unit to brush off any dirt so you have to wipe off any dirt on the hose itself before retracting it. The manual warns about possible damage to the “lock and shrink-back mechanism” if you don’t clean the hose. This seems odd to me as the hose is intended to be used outdoors after all (which is where the dirt lives). I’ve seen other units with built-in brushes that do this type of cleaning as you retract the hose but this one doesn’t have any. I think some type of cleaning system would be a good addition in the future. All in all though, I have to say that when mounted correctly this is a very well-built and sturdy unit which so far works excellently. Keeping the above points in mind, I have no reservations in giving this a strong recommendation.

Boa até ao momento
4 buracos na parede, aparafusar o suporte e montar. Já está, facil e eficaz! Funciona bem por enquanto. Não se pode largar a mangueira para enrolar sozinha pois começa aos solavancos e pode partir alguma coisa.
