BIG and balanced, a watering powerhouse
This is the "pro grade," oversized watering can I've always dreamed about. Less trips around the garden to hit hand-watered spots. A "no-slosh" opening so you don't waste water on the way or soak your shoes. A long arc of water to reach distant points and deliver a lot of water quickly if you don't use the fine-spray attachment. And the tough plastic seems quite sturdy.Completely full, this bad boy is obviously quite heavy. When using the powerful "full" setting on my hose nozzle, water starts spurting out the front tip of the can at about 2 1/2 gallons. That's a perfect compromise between weight and volume, and a really easy way to hit a consistent fill point.Very satisfied with the Rainmaker can.

Excellent Design; Waters Evenly
I purchased the Rainmaker to water the potted plants on my patio. I grow mostly mints (apple mint, spearmint, orange mint, peppermint and chocolate mint) in containers and they love the daily watering from the Rainmaker. I can sprinkle their leaves as well as their pots and have watched them flourish! I also love the size of this watering can because I can choose how much water to put in, depending on the job. It is heavy when filled, but I have no trouble lifting it even then and I am on the small side. I have had no trouble with water leaking from the spout, but I did push the spout all the way on before using. I recommend this watering can for any gardener who wants quick and even watering of his/her plants and doesn't want to drag a hose around.

Filler opening works fine with outdoor faucets and you don't get water sloshing ...
Well made, heavy duty plastic. Handle design keeps the can in balance when you are carrying it and pouring from it. Weighs over 25 pounds when full but you don't always have to fill it up all the way. Filler opening works fine with outdoor faucets and you don't get water sloshing out as you carry it. Has a fine rose so it's output is gentle for watering seedlings. If you need faster output, you can just pop the rose off. Only change that someone might like is providing a second rose with a coarser spray when you have a lot more mature plants that need watering. I've had 4 or 5 watering cans and they work well, especially when you consider their price, but I am not disappointed in spending the money on this one.

Large water can (but easy to handle), well-made
For some reason, I found it difficult to sift through all the reviews for watering cans on Amazon. Bottom line, this watering can seems to be the best value. A little more expensive than the cheap $10 cans, but worth the middle-tier price for more solid construction and a spray head that works mostly as it should (there is a little drip, but overall it produces a good spray). I appreciated the 3 gallon size and did not find it too heavy to lift when filled, although I can see some people having a problem with it. Finally, the hole at the top to fill water is small, but again, I didn't have a problem with it.

Holds LOTS of Water, Gentle on Plants
As the headline says, this holds a lot of water, which is great, less visits to the hose. A study vessel, but even with water is very manageable thanks ti the dual handles. New growth plants hardly moved under th e gentle sprinkle, this is far better for the plants and easier than using a garden hose to reach/spray across the yard. The narrow hole at the top means that water doesn't spray out when filling. This is a great design!

Love this can! Very handy, and the removable spout is great.
Love this watering can! Well worth the price (I paid $30ish for it). The removable rain spout is great, and something I didn't realize when purchasing was that the spout fits right on that weird little post sticking out of the middle of the can. Very clever engineering.I have a variety of setups in my gardens which require creative watering. Sometimes I just want to be able to have a gentle watering without needing to drag the hose out. That's when the rain spout is great. Sometimes, I need to precisely pour a LOT of water into one of my in-ground watering spikes, without needing to drag the hose out. That's when the rain spout goes onto that clever little post.Obviously, this gets very heavy when it's full, since 3 gallons of liquid are heavy. The handles are convenient, and the divider in the middle provides a hand rest when I need to carry it one-handed.I paid full price for this and received absolutely nothing in return for this review other than knowing I've helped give some useful info to my fellow gardeners :-)

Ugly color, but well-designed, highly functional
Theoretically, I hate plastic watering cans. They look so, well..., plastic! -- so unnatural in a garden. (Does the plastic negatively effect the water? I don't know. But I guess I'm not too worried about that. I don't let the water sit in the can for days.) But I've gravitated towards a plastic can because I haven't had long-term success with more traditional (metal) cans; they've tended to leak all too soon. So I hunted through several dozen types of cans until I saw this one.My first criterion was that the can had to be BIG, so I'm not constantly refilling it. This 3.2 gallon-can fits the bill. It also had to be easy to fill and easy to pour. This can also meets those criteria. I heartily dislike the bright blue color -- it's downright garish, though maybe I can convince myself it's cheerful instead! (There should be color choices, and at least a few ought to be in more garden-like colors, it seems to me.) But functionally it's an excellent can, very well designed; and that's really the point; so I'll overlook the color. On the up side, it'll be hard to lose, as you can't miss the thing!
