I like supporting the OtterBox brand, and have had good luck with their covers on previous phones. This was my first Defender series case, and you are basically on your own for decent instructions how to install. Very important first: There appear to be only two pieces, including the hard plastic one with the clip. (You don't need to install the clip piece.) But that other piece separates into 3 pieces. If you look closely, you'll see two seams, which you need to pry apart. Now, look at the picture Amazon includes on the product page. That's the best visualization you'll find for the separate parts--Use it to see how to put it together in order on your phone, with the last part being the thin frame piece that snaps in place on top after the phone is snuggly in place in the bottom two. (Add the clip piece on the bottom only if you want.) OtterBox should be ashamed of itself for not providing clear, step-by-step, illustrated instructions in the box, especially considering the high price of its cases!BTW, I tried to go cheaper with my newest phone by buying a Spiegen case...On the first drop, my screen shattered on a brand new phone. It was a waste of $$. With the OtterBox raised edges on its cases front and back, I have had excellent protection for screen and camera lenses, even without a screen cover.

The fit on this case is perfect and also makes the phone easier to manipulate w/o fear of dropping it. To address the poor reviews that complain about something being wrong because it doesn't have a screen, it literally says in the description, "... the screenless design... ", meaning there is no screen by design. I've tried a number of various cases over the years and Otterbox is bar none the best case out there. This one is no different.

Since my last phone case was an Otterbox and I was really happy with it, this one was the natural choice when I recently bought a new Samsung Galaxy A53. The Defender series looks even stronger than my last one, which had done a superb job of protecting my old phone. It's a two-part case--one overlaps the other for extra protection. I love the color (blue is my favorite!). A little pricey, but worth it. One other thing: it has a little flap that covers where the power cord plugs in. It's a nice feature because it keeps dirt, dust, and lint out, but I couldn't figure out where to plug it in at first. It took a trip to the store where I had purchased my phone to have that shown to me.
